How Do Owens And Roy Williams Stack-Up Against Other Top WR'S?

I agree that they could be top 3 or even number 1 in a year or two, but not immediately. Williams will be good a taking underneath passes and breaking tackles for long gaines. TO pulls coverage his way on every play and Witten demands a lot of attention as well so it is kind of a pick your posion type deal. Cover Witten and let Williams beat you or the other way around. If Roy Williams stays healthy and produces at the level that he is capable of then this team could score at will and it wont matter how poorly the secondary plays/ is coached. They will beat you.

Sounds like the cowboys offense should be considered Weapons of Mass Destruction :muttley:

You did so by rearranging his sentence, not by employing possible alternate meanings of his actual words.

That is honestly how I iinterpreted it at first, and let's be honest fans of teams can say some pretty outlandish things, especially when they are in their own territory.

look at some of the posts by Crazycowboy(the guy who posted 2nd) and you will understand. move along.

Boldin/Fitz and Harrison/Wanye are the only ones I could see ahead. Boldin is injured and Harrison/Wayne are not playing up to expectations, but still a very good tandem.

How would Owens and Roy Williams stack-up against the other top tandem WR's in the league, ie... Fitz & Boldin and others?

How could anyone not think this is potentially one of the best WR tandems in the NFL? Two Pro Bowl receivers, both big, strong, talented guys, both a tough matchup for any corner tandem in the league. Patrick Crayton was never a credible #2 wideout--he's a tremendous #3, but he never demands a double team. Both Williams and Owens are one-on-one the equal or superior to almost any corner in the league, and both on the field at the same time is a challenge for any defense in the NFL. And one other factor to consider here is that this helps the Cowboys running game immeasurably. It's unlikely, I think, that many teams will be willing to commit eight to the box with those guys on the wings, and both are big, strong blockers. There's a big difference in blocking between Crayton and a 220-pound Roy Williams who, like Owens, has a physical advantage over just about any corner in the league. The next few weeks will be dicey, what with Williams adjusting to the the system and Romo out, but my prediction is that after the bye wek, this offense is really going to take off, assuming no more critical injuries.

Johnson and Housh are major head cases, people think T.O is bad, try having Chad Johnson on your team.

Pot to Kettle: You're black!

Chad Johnson NEVER did anything as bad as TO did in San Fran or Philly PERIOD. This isn't even a question. Roy Williams and Housh have a similar rap as a player, but Roy's is less sparkling.

Lets see, Chad Johnson demanded a trade, didn't show up for workouts, changed his name, etc, etc. And for the record, that was all recentley.

T.O hasn't done anything outrageous like that since his Philly days while Ocho Cinco continues to go on a path of destruction and destroy his offense.

I'd put Fitz/Boldin a clear #1. After that I'd say its pretty close among the rest. I'd probably drop Moss/Welker to the bottom as Welker just isn't very special. I'd guess its mostly personal opinion. How much does age play into it? If you count age a good deal then you drop Harrison down some and Housh/Ocho Cinco both drop some.

T.O. / RW2 = 599 yards = 6 TDS
FITZ/ AB = 912 yards = 10 TDS
MARV/REGW/ = 715 yards = 7 TDS
T.O./ JW = 864 Yards = 7 TDS
MB3/T.O./JW/RW2 = 1330 Yards = 10 TDS
