Ok, the start of the NFL season is here!!!!!

What will you do tonight in preparation for the opening game? Or, if you aren't watching tonight's game, what will you do in getting ready for the Cowboys opener?

*I have watched the 1975 Hail Mary Game
*I have watched the 1971 Super Bowl win over Miami
*I am currently at halftime of the 1977 Super Bowl win over Denver
*I have watched "America's Game" on the 1992 Championship team

I plan to have snacks ready tonight, and sit down and enjoy opening night.

What about you?

Kick everyone out of the room so I can have my alone time with the Cowboys. Also, I will have my laptop in front of me so I can check my fantasy stats during commercials.

Back in my younger days I'd want to go hit something. Every Summer as the crack of the pads began I'd want to lace them up and either hit someone or have someone hit me. I even got in a fight once just to let some steam go. Not proud of that. It was 20 years ago.

As the punishment I put my body through began to catch up to me that desire to lace them up began to be replaced a bit. Oh I still wanted to hit someone, but no way did I want them to be able to hit back anymore. Oh hell no on that idea.

Now, I take a swing by my daughter's High School when I take my evening walk and I stroll by football practice and I hear the crack of the pads and the whistle and I remember some of the best times in my life.

Nostalgia has become very valuable to me.

Oh, and I buy nachos and hot dogs and chips and quit answering the telephones.

2nite I'm just going to make some chili dogs and watch the 2 *****es pound it out.

Sunday is Fox pre game show with my man Jimmy Johnson. During commercials i'll be making some Velveeta cheese dip for the 3:15 kickoff in Cleveland. I can't wait.

I begin the day with a cup of tea and a good book. Perhaps I pick up the local newspaper and read the zany editorials written by the angst-ridden farmers and locals who don't want the municipality to change the layout of the town square. Oh, those are a hoot, believe you me! After that, I do some vigorous calisthenics, and have some oatmeal. After a visit to my local antiquities dealer, boy am I ever ready for some football. What a rush!

:star: Hyperventilate...i Cant Even Watch Pre-game Cause Im So Hyped Up:star:

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to be bothered when the Cowboys are playing. No phone and no interruptions of any kind! DO NOT VISIT ME ON COWBOY SUNDAY (or Monday or Thursday or Saturday). I put on my jersey (this year I'll wearing a blue Ware jersey) as if I'm suiting up for the game. At least 3 TVs have the Cowboys channel blaring loudly. I DVR it and record it on DVD. I eat before the game starts because it's hard to eat during game action. The last couple of years I've been coming to the Zone during breaks.

I lived alone before, so I could scream as loud as I liked. Now I'm not sure how loud I will react with others in the house. I feel like I'm obsessed, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything else.
