Do we play:

1. To win.

2. To not lose.

There is a big difference between the two.

Good teams play to win. Teams that are full of smoke and mirrors play not to lose.

Unfortuantely, we have been playing not to lose for nearly a decade now, and I'm getting really sick of it.

I did not see Dallas playing not to lose, we did not go into prevent and offensively Dallas did not just go to the run to try and run out the clock. Dallas kept playing, a couple of penalties we had late in the 4th hurt us and of course giving up the 2 big pass plays but as for playing not to lose NO that was not the case

We allowed their defense to dictate WHAT we were going to do on offense. It was obvious with the rollouts of Bledsoe from the beginning. BP and Co. believed what he heard about their defense and their blitz that they called accordingly.

We USED to play with the attitude of "You know what's coming...stop it if you can.".

We no longer play that way.

Jim that's your take not mine. Dallas made a couple of big mistakes down the end other than that both teams played excellent defense too bad you can't see talent on the other team

I see the talent....however, I believe that we made their defense seem better than they are due to the play calls that we made.

Why did we make some of those calls? Becuase we were too worried about what their defense was going to bring.

THAT is called allowing them to control the game, ie. playing not to lose.

We play not to lose. We don't have enough big time players to go out and play Indy Colt type football on offense. We do have enough players to play "3 yards and a cloud of dust football, however. We will play this way for the immidiate future and hope the defense can "hold 'em".

Makes for a 7-9 to 9-7 record come December.
