How good is San Diego?

I rewatched the game a few minutes ago and its unbelievable how many, seemingly small at the time, twists and minute details that went in our favor and ultimately swung the tide of the game.

Quentin Jammer's incessant PI and holding calls against PC, man I'm glad we passed on Jammer. Gave us several first downs when we were on 3rd down.
The 3rd and 55 personal foul, blow to the head call against Castillo when he sacked Bledsoe. Gave us a first down and we went on to score.
I believe all 3 of our passing TDs were on 3rd down, one on 3rd and goal, and two on third and long
Julius's TD run came after we hurried to the line and ran the play before SD had a chance to call for a review of Key's catch along the sideline, was close for sure.
There were more, but the point is that this was a game of inches for sure.

A much better team than who? Dallas, SD, or just much better than last year?

Chicago > SD, according to them...

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but somehow the Skins' 9-7 "domination" of Chicago at Fedex is much more impressive than the Cowboys' win in SD.

Meh...

Whatever, let them talk. You guys are going to destroy the Skins. How are they going to score against you? Their (the Skins) defense is probably better than ours, but their offense isn't in the same class at all. They scored nine points against the Bears. I'll be surprised if you guys don't work them over pretty good...like 24-10. If they turn the ball over, I think it will be ugly...like 35-10 ugly. The Commanders don't impress me at all.

As for Chicago being better than SD...well, for now we are both 0-1, so I will restrain myself from talking smack, but it sounds to me like someone is trying to convince himself that he actually beat somebody Sunday. The Bears did have a rookie QB starting his very first game as a pro, right?

Well, from what I saw this weekend, SD should again challenge for the AFC West, though it won't be the cakewalk it was last year.

Meanwhile, Chicago (and Washintgon) will be the caretakers of the NFC cellar.

Games in today's NFL usually come down to a play here, a penalty there, a turnover, etc. I think the true key though is that good teams find a way to win, good teams take advantage of turnovers, penalties, or other opportunities. How many games have we lost in the last several years that could have gone either way (see Pittsburgh game last year). The point is we have not been a team that has capitalized on opponents' mistakes and this game is very encouraging in that respect.

Hey Thunder, props to your team. You guys are good and certainly no one-year wonder. That Leber guy really impressed me and you should be so lucky to have a top draft pick stud QB that has to sit behind Brees. Brees is good, real good. I feel pretty fortunate that you were without Gates. I don't know how much Merriman would've helped you considering Leber's performance but Gates surely would've given us problems.
I think you guys and KC will be a great matchup. I saw SD's schedule and its ugly. Good luck to you guys and hopefully we'll meet again in Feb.
