How good might this team be with a healthy Dak?

Cooper Rush has been getting a lot of praise, and deservedly so. But with Dak last year, this was the #1 offense in the NFL. Perhaps it is not JUST the defense that is making Cooper Rush look good. Maybe, just maybe, despite the putrid output in week 1, the composite Cowboys offense is better than we realize.

I remember the 2nd Patriots Super Bowl winning season from 20 years ago, when they lost 31-0 to the Bills, and went 2-2 to start the season. Then, they rattled off 15 straight wins on their way to a 14-2 season, and blew through the playoffs.

So, even with a stinker first week performance, the offense might be better than we know. If Dak comes roaring back, we might find out how really good the offense actually is. If you combine that with the oh so obviously improved top defense, we could all be really surprised with how good this team might be.

Just saying…

Yeah, that's been my thinking too. There's a twinkle of doubt after that week 1 horror show, but I feel like Gallup significantly changes this offense and the entire offensive group are starting to get up to speed. I generally have faith that Dak is a good QB and can elevate things....I guess we'll see at some stage in the next month or so.

Terrible…..the $160 million dollar flop……I would play Rush….its sad and devastating but the emperor has no clothes but an awful lot of jewelry. Thanks Jerra!

Meh….Dak hasn’t done anything for six years…why the sudden expectations?

Defense looks better than it has in years, so far, and that's encouraging. But I'm not convinced either QB is capable of a playoff run. I am willing to test that theory, though.

Dak has been inconsistent over the last several games.
So I really don't know what to expect from him or how the offense would perform with him at QB.

My hopes for this team’s playoff success are not pinned on Dak although when he’s healthy again, he should be playing. Dak is certainly good enough to help us get some playoff wins.

But the real key will be the team as a whole, not just the QB. This team has been good enough at QB for 15 years going back to the Romo years. The problem has been not having a more complete team. Unless your QB is named Brady or Mahomes, no QB alone is going to carry you to a Lombardi. It takes a whole team.

And that has been the problem here for too long. We’ve had talent. But talent alone is never enough. It takes some excellent coaching, organizational culture and a mental and physical toughness that we have lacked for too long.

I won’t be looking at any one or two players to carry us. It’s going to take a team that is different than we’ve seen in a long time. It’s possible. But it must be different than what we’ve seen in years.

Dak has not only physical health issues, he is also suffering though the mental part of the game. This could be more of a problem as his injruries continue to mount as they seemingly appear to be doing

This team would be great if we had the offense we had last season along with the Dak we had the first five games of that season. How I wish we still had Amari Cooper. The passing game hasn’t been nearly as good as last year and in previous seasons. We were the highest scoring team in the entire league last season and may not score half as many points this season. We have a defense that has the potential to be great if we can tighten up against the run. The pass rush is the best we’ve had in years.

I agree it takes a team effort and for some reason Cooper Rush is capable of getting quite a bit of great team play out of this group of players.

I hope when Dac heals up he can get the same type of production from the rest of the team

This is it. Dak will make the team weaker.

Imagine there's no Dak,
It's easy of you try.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one

Regardless of the QB, I think we lack the WRs to make a serious push.

well considering in those games, he had better stats especially on third down than Cooper, I would assume the offense would be better. Especially if we keep with the same game plan. That is the controversy here do we go stay 12 personnel or revert back to 11.
