How hard is it to have Tolbert, Simi, and Turpin run crossing routes?

Tolbert, Simi, and Turpin are all 4.4 guys and 4.3 guys correct, right? Even if they aren't the best route runners, how hard is it to have one or two of them line up across from each other and run crossing or drag routes?

Noah dropped a huge pass but i'm not even mad at him, at least he's making plays for us unlike Gallup. There's no way that Gallup at this point is running better routes than Tolbert, I don't care if Dak has to go to him every play and tell him his route.

My first reaction is Tolbert couldn't line up correctly pre snap. So maybe the coaches can work with him on that this season and hopefully with an entire offseason he can start running routes. Now my sarcasm is out of my system I think you have a very valid point. Why not have Turpin just run down the field every once in a while to tire the defense out. Line him up on the outside or in the slot and have him just go deep. Doesn't have to be a route, just run in one direction towards the secondary. We could use Turpin, Fehoka, or Tolbert.

I'm basing this off of our 2020 defense. I can't remember who, but it was safety, admitted that "you can't run hard every play". Then he got a lot of flack for it. Then the talking heads, some of them players, said it was pretty common for teams to use a fast STer to run a deep route just to force the secondary to honor it. Then the next play they'd sub in the real WR and go right at the guy that just covered the decoy. I wish we did smart things like that.

SOUNDS logical.

Can't we start with lining up properly first......when it comes to Tolbert? Simi on IR for how long now and wasn't that eye-opening in preseason. Turpin, a bit small but would be Lucky Whitehead 2.0 with Air Coryell Jr. and get blasted on the trickeration plays due to poor blocking we routinely see. How about blasting Air Coryell Jr for that HS route running or being unable to scheme to feature his guys........Did any Jax CB make Pro Bowl? Gallup the new excuse maker for Air Coryell Jr........wow.

Kind of hard for Fehoko, considering he is on IR. There is a reason they aren't playing Tolbert. They are risk adverse when it comes to playing Turpin on offense.

With all the issues we have seen with even our experienced receivers not finishing routes over the middle you really want to send guys still wet behind the ears into that area? Are we trying to get Dak the league lead in INTs for the season?

Some might clown you for creating this thread, but I understand your train of thought. You are basically saying, let's put our speed guys to use. Why have them and not use them, right? That's coach Jerry not giving McCarthy control of this offense, IMO. The love affair Jerry has with Moore is unhealthy.
