How is this for a HOF class?

All possible retirements this year. Canton is going to run out of room! :lombardi:

Emmitt Smith
Jerry Rice
Brett Favre
Deion Sanders
Tim Brown
Darren Woodson (HOF in my book!)
Aeneas Williams
Jerome Bettis

Did I leave anyone off?

That is quite a list. I think Woodson is deserving, but I don't think he will get in. I am not sure about Williams. Certainly not first ballot. If Rice, Favre, Brown and Sanders join Emmitt and retire then I think Bettis gets bumped off the first time ballot. He is a hall of famer, but he is not in the same class as those guys.

I doubt Deion retires. He can't stand not being in the spotlight and he was terrible on CBS.

For some reason, I think Jerry Rice is gonna hang around like a bad hang nail. He just won't go away. But he's still a first ballot whenever he retires. As for Aeneas Williams, I've always thought he was a good player, but how does he get to be HOF-worthy?

Favre is gonna stick around. Sanders will probably do one more year unless he can get another TV gig.

Williams played in 8 Pro Bowls. I don't think anyone has ever been in that many and not made the Hall of Fame. Williams is the type of player who would have been a lock if he had played on better teams that also received more national media attention. (e.g. Darrell Green on Commanders)

I thought of another one to add to this list:

Junior Seau

He may be too old to come back from that injury. He'd probably be a lock in any normal year. What a class of HOFers!
