Unfair competitive advantage.
Not that the NFL truly cares about that. This MNF playoff game is really not all that fair. Don't be surprised if we win, that we will be playing on Saturday.
Unless we are at SF or Philly, it will be the late Sunday game.

I think this is the right answer. They still have a slot that they could fill in another Saturday game with, making Thursday pretty meaningless. All that a Thursday playoff game would do is completely destroy scheduling and competitive balance.

I'd like to think never, but I would've thought the same thing about playing on a Monday night until it happened.

We didn't need a 7th playoff team and we didn't need Monday playoff games, but we all know why we have them. Thursday is probably just a matter of time.
