How long until you would cave into this torture

You're captured by a pro metric extremest organization that is demanding that all Americans give up our inches, miles, gallons, Fahrenheit temperatures, etc. You have information they want, so they tie you to a fold-out chair and put you in front of these speakers:

They then proceed to blast Friday by Rebecca Black over and over. They briefly stop the music and put a little red button in your hand. To agree to spill the beans, all you have to do is push that button. They tell you that Rebecca Black's song will NEVER stop until you talk. How long until you cave?

In case you're not familiar with her song, here it is:

They could force me to run thousands of kilometers in sub 0 degree Celsius temperature before I use the metric system.

Sad to say I have heard worse. It would be nice to pick a single system to go to though. We are mixed right now and you never know when you need a metric socket or a US standard socket. Metric is actually a lot easier.

I couldn't even get through that song once. Centimeters it is.

I think there's maybe 3 countries that use fahrenheit.

That being said, it was a nice warm winter day today at 16 degrees.

While I favor the metric system for distances and even weights, I am not fond of the Celsius scale as opposed to the Fahrenheit system. I get it. Water freezes at 0 and boils at 100. Seems like a simple enough system. But who cares about the thermodynamic properties of water, other than scientists? Water freezes at 32 and boils at 212 F. It is two numbers to remember, and when you are distilling something other than water, you have to know the boiling point of the molecules you are purifying anyway and it won't be an even number. For example, ethanol boils at 78.37 degrees Celsius or 173.1 F. Maybe we should all go to the Kelvin system which uses Celsius units but has a basis for 0 degrees.

I don't know about you, but I don't drink ethanol or any other substance that I'd need to purify first other than water.

If you drink booze, like Bourbon, then you are drinking distilled ethanol.

haha I remember when that song was making it's way around the internet. One of those 'popular because it's so terrible' trends.

I still use the Bigfoot footprint method.
Haven't gone wrong yet.
Everything is small though...

Sir! May I introduce you to the Bigfoot footprint measurements:
Water freezes at 1/8th inch footprint depth and boils at inch and a half depth-
It's totally simple guys!

Good point! The boiling point of water is affected by pressure. So 100 degrees Celsius is at 1 atmosphere. Put a cover on that pot to boil water faster!
