How NFC will go down today. Who to root for? Who do we play in Tourney?

Hid this in another thread, but decided to post it since I'm sure lot of you have this question today. Tie Breakers are a pain in the *#$#.
Best way to look at all of this is Dallas MUST win. Period.

1 PM GAMES (OPPONENT FOR NFC EAST 2nd place)
Buccaneers @ Panthers
Falcons @ Saints
Vikings @ Lions

  • If Dallas loses today, and Philly wins, we are 2nd place NFC East and #5 seed playing NFC South.
  • NFC South plays HOME game against NFC East 2nd place no matter what. Tampa wins today and get NFC South. Tampa loses today, it goes to the winner of Falcons/Saints game.
  • Pick your poison - Tampa, Atlanta or New Orleans
  • Detroit still has a small chance to be #2 seed again if they win 1PM game, and BOTH Dallas & Philly lose 4PM games. This would make Detroit #2 and us #3 with NFC East Championship. #2 seed hosts #7 seed in Wild Card Game. #3 seed hosts #6 seed in Wild Card Game. So if you think Dallas will lose against Washington at 4PM, root for Detroit to lose too.

4PM GAMES (OPPONENT FOR NFC EAST 1st place)
Cowboys @ Commanders
Eagles @ Giants
Rams @ 49ers
Bears @ Packers
Seahawks @ Cardinals

  • Dallas must win today to guarantee NFC East and #2 seed. Philly can win it with a win and Dallas loss. #2 seed plays HOME against #7 seed.
    • So assuming Cowboys win NFC East, we get a HOME game against #7.....
      • If Rams win, we play Packers at #7
      • If Packers win and Rams lose, we play Rams at #7
      • If Both Rams and Packers lose, AND Seahawks win, we play Seahawks at #7
      • (TINY CHANCE) If Packers & Seahawks lose and Buccaneers & Saints win, we play Saints at #7

How are the lions not playing at the same time as Dallas?
Don't think it's really a big deal. Both us and Philly have to lose and they win for them to be #2 seed again. Let's face it, if both us and Philly lose, neither one of us deserves that #2 seed and a shot at the Super Bowl. Must win today.

Think they did it right with the NFC South determined by 1PM games, and the #6 and #7 up in the air until all 4PM games complete. Not sure if it works out that well for AFC. Haven't looked at them yet.

It's in the 1PM game bulletin points. Thanks though. Sorry way to win the NFC East, right? Thanks but no thanks.
It would suck but with division games you never know! Tyrod is starting today and it’s in NY so always a chance. We suck on grass and in the cold so…..

No matter who we end up playing, they all are about the same team.

I am rooting for the Bears today, so GB misses the playoffs.
Also rooting for Jaguars and Bills so Steelers miss the playoffs.
What is crazy is that the Bills will either be the No. 2 seed, or miss the playoffs altogether if Jacksonville wins.

That seems impossible.

No one is saying why they are afraid of the Rams. The hot streak? The Super Bowl memory?

Only thing I don't like about them is a lot of 100 yard rushing games in their win streak. Our kiss of death.

Their receivers don't scare me as much as they do fantasy football peeps. Seattle with the oversized receivers and deep routes is the one to be afraid of for mismatch issues with our Corners.

The other thing I'm seeing is people WANTING to be 2nd place in NFC East and play away at Buccs.

I don't care who we face at #6, #7.... only constant with this team is they win at HOME. Even close games! We want to win today, get the #2 seed, and GUARANTEED home games until we face the 49ers which would most likely be NFC Championship game.

I believe Rams are most likely as SF and Rams are sitting their starters. So they should still lose that game
That's a good point.

Honestly, I think the wild card teams would rather play us than Detroit right now.

Our offense is sputtering, and our defense can be gashed with the run.

I’d like to see us win and somehow others win/losses bring the Saints to Dallas. I don’t want yo see Seattle to be honest or Rams or GB.

Too many people on this site overlooking this important fact. It's the same reason why I'm not sold on this being an easy win today.
