How not to do a long jump

Embarrassing. It wouldn't have counted anyway because his foot crossed the line during the initial jump.

Plus his "Look at Me" hand clapping and skunk stripe hair made it that much more delicious... :D

Was he perhaps experimenting with a new technique, like the fosbury flop? Probably should have worked it out before the big event.

That is the in thing to do for long jumpers. I first noticed it a couple of Olympiads back, but it could have started way before then. Almost every jumper would try to get the crowd clapping before their jump. I thought it was strange then and still do. Now I don't know when the skunk stripe came into vogue.

...was like a "I need more Cowbell!" moment.

All we needed was for Rob Schneider to peek from out the crowd and say, "You can do it."

:laugh2:

All the runners get the crowd cheering and yelling and it makes you go faster, the field guys don't get much in the way of crowd support.
