How ready will this team be if their starters never play in a preseason game?

You can't replicate real game play in practice running around in shorts and t-shirts. Your body must prepare for that game punishment..

Using the first four games of the season as a test, might not be a championship philosophy.

They did it last season too, and they were very ready.

A lot of teams did it last year and this year.

It was just announced that Brady is playing Saturday.

Mahomes and Allen have both been playing.

The greats take any chance to get better.

Pulling starters to keep them healthy just ain't working. Tyron's out for months just walking to the kitchen.

They wanted to change the toughness of this team. Avoiding contact doesn't sound like toughness to me

I've never been a fan of how soft training camp has gotten.. Really football in general has gone way too soft and I think it's contributing to all the injuries we so from guys just getting out of bed. The great Frank Gifford used to say "The human body is not built to play this game..." And of course he was right.. So the only way to get the body ready to play is to subject it to some punishment. The new NFL seeks to avoid doing that and the results are that more and more guys are getting hurt in non-contact work and if they ever actually do endure some contact their bodies are nowhere near prepared. I get that's it's about preserving these massively compensated assets for when it really counts but someone should let the owners and the players know that it isn't working worth a damn. Guys are getting hurt more than ever now..

I have said before I think pre season serves a purpose in getting teams ready for the season. I think Cowboys should play starters for a few series to get up to speed.

Personally, I agree with you but the Rams don't play theirs and it seems to work. Then again, they're a better team in every facet of operation.

It depends on whether McCarthy gave his Greenfield Avenue Pittsburgh, Pa. 15217 speech or not.
