Anyone have one?

I know HP canned them but it looks like there are some really solid prices floating around.

Any problems to know about?

I don't have one yet, but I've got two on the way. At those prices you can't go wrong. WebOS is pretty good I hear, but a development group is already working on an Android port.

I've got one on the way as well. It's $99 for a tablet that runs WebOS. That's pretty awesome.

WebOS has the best feel of any of the major mobile OSes, but it doesn't have nearly the developer support. It's too bad that it was mishandled so badly.

As soon as the price dropped, they instantly sold out everywhere.

Yeah, I was lucky to see a twitter status about it. So I went to Amazon when the link was posted by someone I was following and ordered one right away for $99. I checked back about a half an hour later and the price went back up to over $400. I can't say I'm displeased.

Life is hard work, and nothing will change that. But sometimes you get lucky and you have to thank God for it, and take advantage of the opportunities that are provided to you.

I have one. It is a cool product in that it multitasks better that the other stuff out there. It got killed before it had a chance.

i have two ordered, hopefully it comes thru and doesn't get canceled

live link for anyone interested, who knows how long it will last

I got in on one from Amazon earlier in the day.

I'm really hoping it comes through, just for the viewing of PDFs and surfing capabilities.

yeah same here. have been wondering if it will come thru ever since, so the B&N is kind of tempting.

yup, from what i have heard.

It does and supposedly it runs Flash stuff very well from the reviews I've read.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with a tablet, but for $99, does it really matter?

B&N is canceling all orders.

At $99 it's a steal. The biggest problem is it sounds like it's going to die. You buy something that is going to fall behind and developers aren't going to write apps for a product that is dead in the water.

It's a shame and I heard great things about WebOS.

You can install Android on it, and they aren't dumping WebOS, just their tablet and PC hardware. They say they plan to continue developing WebOS and licensing it out, so updates should still be available.

Oh, I thought i read they were doing away with the whole thing. (which sounded odd) I guess they are just getting out of the non-server hardware business.

Yes, the Touchpad and the Palm phones are being discontinued. Other than that... at this point, all they said is that they are investigating doing something with the PC/laptop/workstation side of the business. They may sell it, they may spin it off (Like HP did with Agilent several years ago), or they may keep it. It is a $40B profitable business... they are not closing the doors on it.
