I predict this will end badly, but it would make for a hell off a TV show when the entire cast dies on the trip to Mars. :laugh2:

Really gotta see how they are going to get the billions of dollars required to fund this to make just the trip there possible. I bet we are more likely to see clips of people near the Grand Canyon than actually on Mars for a TV show.

2023? That seems like a very optimistic time frame. It would take that long to build a ship that can transport the people and equipment required to build a colony, even a small one on Mars.

They aren't planning to use a ship. They want to use a trebuchet. It's the cheaper way to fly! :laugh2:

If they can establish a base on the moon then there are plans for a steam powered ship that can make the trip is a few months. Much of the ship is inflatable with water mined on the moon. I don't see them establishing a moon base soon enough what with the economy so I'm guessing 2030-40 time frame.
