I don't get the frustrations over Jaylon. What did you guys expect from him?
I'm not frustrated with him at all. The fact that he's on the field for so many snaps right now is surpassing my expectations. However, he's been thrusted into the starter role prematurely due to Hitchen's injury. That's how I want to believe history went, because if I thought for a second that the coaching staff believed he was more set at MLB than Hitchens, then I would instantly lose all respect for them and their "all about competition" stance. Jaylon was a College Stud and will potentially be an NFL stud, but Hitchens is at least 1 level ahead of him as a MLB at this point (Hitchens is more experienced, but he's also pretty darn good against the run, too). We need the best LB's on the field POINT BLANK!
Part 2...and I know I'm going to be labeled as "crazy", but I believe that Jaylon is a true WLB and when he finally earns that spot (Lee retires) he needs to lose 5-10 lbs of weight (he looks all of 250-255lbs). He currently looks like he's bulked up like a young Rolando but his strength in college was his balance of agility, speed and length (as a ~240lb'er). He currently doesn't look/play anything like he did at Notre Dame (partially understandably). But if you were to create your perfect WLB in a 3D printer, it would come out looking like Jaylon from College. He's the prototypical WLB (just like Sean Lee would be at MLB...albeit not as brittle). Hopefully Jalon returns to 100% and the coaching staff understands how to use his strengths (i.e., not as a MLB).
