Free is younger, more athletic and defends pass as well as Colombo. With Flozell contract...he is starting next year and it appears Colombo will provide depth at RT. The good news is that Dallas has decent depth again but Colombo might be trade bait in offseason.

I'd love to see Free at LT and Colombo at RT next season.

Free is our best lineman. Should be an interesting decision next year with Flozell.

In an uncapped year, where we might be able to absort a contract or two we don't want, I wouldn't be opposed to entering next season and allowing the three to take place in a good-old position battle. Best two win -- assuming Free can contend for the gig at left tackle.

I was about to say you're crazy, but he's been just about the most solid o-line guy we have since he came in. Weird.

If we have too many good linemen that will be great.

BTW, that 5th round pick we don't have this year was traded for Montrae Holland.

Isn't Columbo a free agent in the offseason? If he is I can't see them bringing him back. If not jerry has to decide if Columbo or Flozell is the progress stopper.

Almost every week he makes a "holy cow" block. There was the block where he backed into the defender when he was playing on the left on an unbalanced line. Then he sent Randall Gay into next week.

At this point, no sense changing things up...keep'em as they are 'til they need to be changed.

and frankly, Free has EARNED the start next week.

Columbo hasn't played in a long time. It would be boneheaded to throw him into the mix in a playoff game.

Keep Free in there.

This should be a no brainer. If it is for us, I would think the coaches are all over the same thought process.

I think Brewster is the wildcard in all of this. He was basically a redshirt with his injury, so the coaching staff needs to decide whether he'll be a guard or a RT. Wasn't he working mostly at guard at the OTA's? If he was then I guess he'll be the backup until Kosier leaves. If they work Brewster at tackle, hopefully he can eventually take over for Colombo. Either way, it's a win-win situation if Brewster pans out.

i agree, the question is whether Free can unseat Flo.
He's athletic enough that he should be able to slow down speed rushers, but I don't think he's strong enough yet. We don't realize how lucky we are to have Flo protecting Romo's backside.

LT and RT are two different worlds.
