And I feel great.

Got stopped yesterday for running through a red light.
After I did it I immediately heard a siren and saw the flashing lights and thought O Snap.

Told the officer yes I am in a hurry and I did run through the red light.
His exact words were, and I quote

"When I started my shift today I told myself the first person I stopped for a traffic violation who admitted they did something wrong wouldn't get a ticket, congratulations".

The only thing that could have made yesterday better would have been Salma Hayek showing up at the door at midnight

That is always a great feeling.

I have always found that being direct and honest with a cop usually can play in your favor. They deal with idiots and liars their entire shift so I think they appreciate a little honesty. I got pulled over a few months ago for texting and driving. I was guilty. I admitted to the cop it was stupid and that he caught me. He was cool and wrote me a much lesser ticket. Well, I went to pay the ticket and there was ZERO information in the system about it. My only guess is he decided not to submit the ticket (or however it works).

I have a couple of cops friends and they tell me that might not write someone a ticket of they are polite and honest. Some of them even said they have not written a ticket to a person because the person asked them this question to them: How is your day going? They said that it makes feel like they are human and the person they pulled over is interested in their day.

The last time I got stopped, as the officer walked up I informed him that I had a weapon in the vehicle and a C and C permit. He thanked me and didn't issue a citation and commended me for learning and obeying the rules of a C and C permit. Now, I don't think you need one which has got to make cops feel really safe walking up to a vehicle.
