I have shared this before. I did not like the NBA's decision to suspend players on the Suns after they left the bench in a playoff game against the Spurs.

It really irks me. Some here are equally bothered by my feelings on this.

I don't even watch sports news if they are talking NBA. Just like soccer, I tune it out.

So today, I am visiting with my Mom in the Nursing home and she asked me about the Cowboys and I told her the truth. I really needed them to be good this year to take my mind off her poor health. They've let me down.

My Mom, ever wise in her advice said to me, "the NBA team you used to like could help you."

Tonight, I looked at the standings and see that the Lakers are undefeated so far. I knew they had won the last 2 Championships and I didn't care.

Should I start watching again? I lean to no, because that decision by the NBA honestly does irk me. I can't deny however, that sports has been an escape for me and the Dallas Cowboys are leaving me in the lurch.

Have you given any thought to college basketball? The Wildcats will be starting their season soon and usually have a decent program.

i think you should, anything to get your mind off the cowboys right!?!?! but be forewarned, the rule is still the same, no matter how ticky tacky you might think it is, its still there and it will be enforced.

The Lakers are the team you used to like? If so, you should definitely start watching again. Kobe Bryant is 32 and won't be in his prime for more than another couple of years probably and he's chasing his 6th ring which would put him up there next to Jordan in a lot of people's eyes for the G.O.A.T discussion. The Lakers have a great, deep team that will possibly threaten the Bulls 72-10 mark if they can stay healthy and motivated.

Then you have the super team in Miami which, as messed up as "The Decision" may have been, they have two of the top 5 players in the NBA and are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

There's also great young talent like Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and Brandon Roy.

It isn't the rule itself that I am opposed to. It was the application of it in the playoffs to fix a series. I believe the playoffs need to be handled differently than the season. Best product on the court. After all this is your tournament. I was not a fan of either team involved. I had no dog in the fight. I just do not like how it was handled.

Right now, I am leaning away from watching because as the poster above you noted college basketball is coming soon. I know you do not understand my feelings on this and have taken it hard in the past. I just feel that strongly about it.

I haven't watched the NBA since the Bulls beat the Suns in the NBA Finals, 1993ish?

It's a crap league.

I'm a much bigger college ball fan. I generally watch a few NBA games in a given season, up until the college season is done, then will watch from there through the playoffs. But with so many regular season games, the early NBA season just seems boring to me.

But Duke is the pre-season number one and the Cowboys are terrible, so college ball it is.

The NBA is a crook's league. It all started with two of my most hated teams. The Lakers and Kings. The Kings beat the Lakers in the WCF, yet the league would not allow Kobe and Shaq go home for Flopping Vlad and Chris Webber, so they cheated and let the Lakers move forward. I hate the Kings, but what the NBA did was far beyond low class and I hate the hell out of King Flopper himself, but they didn't deserve that.

That started it. Then there is all the Superstars get phantom calls and all nobodies get BS calls. The reason given? They are superstars, they deserve to get the calls? What kind of BS is that?

Crook's league. This is why the NBA will be the first of the four major sports to die and when it does, I will be smiling because they did it themselves. They took a great sport and cheated it to death.

They might be heading to a work stoppage next offseason, so I would say save yourself the grief. I know I wish I could, but I simply love the game too much to stop at this point.

Do yourself a favor and ignore the NBA. The officiating drove me away. Big names get the calls all the time, and traveling is just what teams do for road games.

The 2006 NBA Finals was just horrible. I still watched my team (the Mavs) though. Wade was great that series but the officiating in that series was just horrible. Just to pass times when football ends and baseball begins. The NBA is nice on the first week. After the first couple weeks though, I tune it off until March. .

if you stood for it in 2007 because you felt it was right is it any less right in 2010...

I haven't watched the NBA since 1986 that is around the same time I turned off baseball...

I enjoy the CFL though the rules are bit quirky...but football on any level is pretty enjoyable for me.

Start following MMA more, it can help get ya through the tough season we have been having and show you some moves to do to the coaches if you ever get your hands on them

I just don't do sanctioned brutality. Its' very Neanderthal like. If you have an intention to hurt someone, there should be a legitimate reason for doing it. For sport or fun is not legitimate, it's pointless and lowbrow just like dog fighting.

I love football and it can be brutal at times, but you aren't supposed to be trying to injury people. Those that do should be removed from the sport for being unsportsmanlike. (James Harrison)

Brutality is not a sport. It's a vice that should only be employed when absolutely necessary. You know, against people like BlueBandit. ;)

I enjoy the NBA. There are certain things about it that annoy me, but a good game is always exciting, the Mavericks are always at least competitive, and it fills a part of the year that has no other sports I'm interested in.

the nba is pretty badly officiating, they openly have different rules for different players. its not a secret that they officiate games differently for the kobes and lebrons of the world than they do the kareem rushes or roger masons. its pretty ridiculous. never the less ill always root for my spurs

I would if I were you. I tried getting into hockey, but I failed. I root for the Mavericks but are too lazy to watch a full game.
