I hope our players never host another free agent that way we did!

With OBJ, all of the night out on the town, public showing of a player like he's the greatest player on earth. What a joke. The leadership players on this team were already getting frustrated with it, I hope they never let it happen again. Let it be on the owners to take said player out for a night on the town!! Please give your thoughts

You're right brother. It's embarrassing, but these players know what they are risking. I guess they were doing some dirty work with the hope the entertained player would be willing to lower his cost and make a fair deal with Jerry and the Cowboys. If anything, OBJ is the one who lost out.

Personally I didn't have a problem with it. It seems that's what teams used to do with free agents for many years anyway. Perhaps Jerry thought by showing him a good time he would want to come for less $$$?

The only thing I didn't enjoy about the recruiting was all the talk Jerry made about his desire to sign him. That was already clear just through the visit.

I hope that their night out was a sincere event that was not orchestrated by Jones. OBJ was in town and I hope it was just some great players getting together to meet each other socially.

However, that sure sounds naive.

If Jones want to stir in some publicity, he should leave the players out of it.

That was all for show because it was in season and Booger knew he could get a few more mentions from the talking heads. Beckham is one of the NFL lightning rods for attention and Bogger wanted to grab onto that.

In the off season, they didn't even go to his workouts after being so interested. They used the excuse as a lack of seeing a workout not to sign him.

Trying to bring in a guy at a position of need in an attempt to beef up for a Super Bowl run is considered a negative? Who knew for sure he wouldn't be ready for the playoffs at the time? If anything, I'm glad we have guys that want to win so badly that they're being proactive in trying to make the team better. Certainly beats having a bunch of guys simply cashing checks.

OBJ literally said he doesn't want to play unless it's the playoffs. Jerry and Stephen ARE dumb, but they aren't bringing that diva in here.

Who cares, why should we care. No one else seems to care but some on here.
I think it is more entertaining watching fans reaction to it.

Fans got riled up because Romo and Witten went to a Mavericks game, Dak and Zeke went, or now OBJ.
Or when Brittney Spears wore a pink #9 jersey. Who got riled up over Troy Aikman and the C&W singer, Morgan?

Fans should be getting riled up because Rowdy is still around. :muttley:

Meltdowns are entertaining. :lmao:

Jesus wept.

Dallas was badly in need a WR and had few cap dollars. What they could do was make a WR feel special and tell them how they can win a ring here.
They did but it didnt matter as the player wasn't as healthy or close to return as he had been telling people.
