To make the defense attempt to think and not make their jobs so easy! We can't just use motion this game, and forget about it the next, please give your thoughts

That's what made Kellen Moore so successful, pre-snap motions. It would change the responsibilities of the defensive coverage, at the last second.

The biggest issue was that motion would decrease for away games, due to the crowd noise. So they need to figure out a way to run motions silently.

It works!

There are pro's and Con's to motion. It does have it's place just like anything else we really need to know why they chose not to use any. So many issues from this offense it's not even funny.

What's that? I haven't seen much motion since Nick Saben was saying, "Sooey sooey sooey." and Garrett and Sparano started dusting off their resume's. That's when all that motion stopped. and...we stopped using TO effectively.

I just hope we open up the offense more and show some creativity. We need to make more plays down the field.

Motion would help use it to set bunch floods up and attack the short zone defense that IS comming.

Also, Pre-snap motion can help the offense identify the defensive alignment. For example, a receiver in motion may reveal whether the defense is in man-to-man or zone coverage.

It makes no sense not to use motion and make it harder on the defense. The best offenses use it for a good reason.

This is one of those no-brainer things that we don’t do. Picks or “rubs” Is another. We ran one pick play first game of the year for a big gain to Lamb, who was wide open, and haven’t run that play since.

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to pre snap motion. If you can do it well and do it with a purpose then yeah it's a great thing. You start getting defenders moving sideline to sideline and it can drastically change a defense though. Just as easy as it is for an offense to kill a play the defense can do the same in an instant. You can also motion a player right towards where you're going with the ball. Just like every play requires balance, you have to show balance when using motion otherwise it becomes predictable. Lots of teams have fallen victim to getting too heavy of getting the ball away from the motion direction or some other tendency. Some QBs, even great ones hated motion.

I don't believe it is some ultimate cheat code that makes an offense special. When used well it can drive defenses nuts but it's a lot harder to utilize motion well on a consistent basis though.
