I lost my little buddy Lilly one week ago today. I can't get over it. My heart is so broken.
She was 10 years old .
I loved her her whole life. I am going to miss her for the rest of mine.

This is the toughest death I've had to deal with that wasn't a friend or family member. This is literally tearing my heart out. I feel it physically in my chest and it's hard to walk around the yard where she played . I'm hurting.

Sorry for the loss man. Been through it a few times and it never gets easier. I will say that the memories become something special. Almost every day my wife and I reference something our two dogs that passed did and we laugh about those great memories. Hang in there.

It's rougher than a lot of people realize, but it'll get less intense over time.
It is. Always would look over to her sitting spot, or going for walks in the yard wondering where she is/hoping it was all a bad dream and she'll pop out of the bushes or something.

Time doesn't make you forget, just lowers the sting as it passes by.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain very well. We lost our little Winnie back in April and it was such a sad time. But I had to put down out little Betty about 10 years ago and I still choke up thinking about that final car ride to the vet. The image of her looking up at me as if she knew where we we going is stuck in my brain forever. This little friends make such an impression on us. They make us better people.

I try to think of all the joy they brought instead of those final moments.

We just adopted 2 more dogs from a rescue that saves dogs from high kill pounds. It has helped us get over our loss. I will always remember every dog I have had, but saving 2 more from cruelty and indifference is a great feeling.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is incredibly hard, and we all know how much your dog meant to you. Take comfort in the memories and the love you shared.

As fellow dog lovers, we understand the depth of your grief. It’s heartbreaking how short their lives are, but the joy they bring lasts forever.
