IM 54. I dont really care about any athlete too much... but I absolutely love Mike. I will be wearing my 88 Irvin 95 throwback at the opener.

The 2nd story about Larry Allen is one of the best stories Ive ever heard.... and I had never heard this before.

I aint got no plan...... bahahhahah. Love this tory.

Man I got a little choked up there. Hearing what happened on vacation choked me up. Then I got more choked up with the stories. I could listen to these stories all day. Irvin is a phenomenal story teller. If there was a HOF for story telling he’d be in it.

Thanks for sharing the OP. Continuing prayers for LA’s family. Irvin is right, always tell your loved ones you them because it could be the last time you talk.

God Bless Larry Allen, Irvin, the Cowboys and everyone in Cowboys nation and everyone in this online community.

Apparently a lot went on with Larry after his career. Broaddus was talking about it on Jeff Cavanaugh podcast yesterday last 7 minutes or so. My inference was health problems. According to Broaddus, Jerry went way out of his way to help Larry out. So I will give Jerry props in this case for doing right by a former star player. I would post a link but Cavanaugh was wearing a hat thst wouldnt be considered family friendly around here. You can check it our on YouTube though.

Say what you want about Jerry, but he is a good man at heart. He definitely stands by his players.

I’m happy that one of my all time favorite players got in on that last championship during that run, and isn’t included on the list of HOF careers wasted by inferior coaching.

Thank God for Michael Irvin a Dallas Cowboys through and through.
Great stories about a great Dallas cowboy who truly loved the game and played it the right way with all his heart.

Love that Mike, that is what is missing on this team now but Larry was a monster and I know the DL was scared of him, guy was huge, powerful and athletic. That is a scary package.

If Larry could run down a player that he outweighed by at least a hundred pounds, I suppose it isn't a stretch that at 6 foot 3 and north of 350, standing flat footed he could dunk a basket ball and tear off the rim.

Michael Irvin is a GREAT storyteller. That's why he has stayed on television so long.
Yeah, but he's an old head now and the majority of the NFL viewers never saw him play. He's a has been.

I love Michael Irvin but his storytelling really is like the fish stories. I don't think Larry Allen every weighed 380 lbs. 340, maybe.

But the on thing we cannot debate is his strength. We've seen the videos of him bench pressing 700 lbs, and benching 225 43 times. Just think about that. 225 lbs 43 times.

This is the essence of why the 90s Cowboys won 3 Superbowls. They obviously earned every penny but money isn't the motivating factor to win Championships.

Great Champions always talk about and take care of their teammates.

Yeah, but he stayed longer than someone with his baggage should have. Shrug.
