"The Barbarian" is a special player and I still can't believe we got him in the 4th round... easily the steal of the 2005 draft. Consider the top 5 RB's taken ahead of him:

Rd 1 pick 2 Ronnie Brown: decent
Rd 1 pick 4 Cedric Benson: bust currently unemployed
Rd 1 pick 5 Cadillac Williams: fair RB coming off serious injury
Rd 2 Pick 12 J.J. Arrington: bust
Rd 2 pick 22 Erik Shelton: who???

There is no doubt he would be the top RB selected if there was a such thing as a draft do-over.

I just cannot wait until he is paired up with Felix Jones!

Wow......unreal....what a steal

That puts a whole different perspective on him. I still don't think he's worth the money we paid him tho. I just think he is going to wear down and he's not gonna take it to the house. Here is a site I found with some good information. I didn't count total yards in my decision because he split time but I did consider yds per attempt and longest run. With this in mind, he wasn't even a top 10 back last year, so why did he get top 3 money? Ah well. I'm glad he's here. I just think we overpaid. Whacha gonna do. Go get em barbarion.

I'm thrilled to keep Marion cause I think he's going to be perfect in the role they want for him. He doesn't need to break the bank for homeruns. That's what we got Felix Jones for. Marion is going to continue to pound the crap out of defenses, getting 4.6-5.0 yards per carry and scoring plenty of Touchdowns for us.

Ronnie Brown was VERY good right before he got injured, he's more than decent. On a non-sucktastic team, he'd be a star. We'll have go see how his knee managed though.

But absolutely, we got a good deal in Brown. Another reason why I didn't feel we needed to take a RB so high in this draft, but it's over and done with now, just gotta hope it works out.

In terms of speed, I equate Barber to Emmitt in that he never was a true home-run hitter, but he had more than enough speed to get the job done. For example, in the youtube video, he gashed the Bears for a big gain and was only caught by the secondary, who should be faster than most RB's naturally.

Barber was a gem of a find and we have a short window to enjoy his skills.
