I don't know if you've ever been to Korea, but I was stationed there for a year back in the late 90's (when it was still the wild wild Wes...err....East). Korean Women are extremely tough nuts to crack. I think it's the deeply embedded stoicism that their culture has developed/had to maintain after thousands of years fighting off neighbors to their peninsula. If you ever happen to go to South Korea, you absolutely have to visit the Korean War Museum in Seoul. It's not all about "our" Korean War with them. It has recreations of the ancient boat warfare that was a part of life for them. Very large museum. When you leave that place, you get a sense that their culture (the whole of Korea) woas forged in war. We got to (was a requirement) to visit the DMZ and that was another eye opener. Also, our War to defend the South Koreans doesn't get anywhere near the attention it should, is misunderstood/glossed-over due to it being sandwiched between WWII and Vitenam and was, IMO, one of the few successful/noble "police actions" the US was involved in.
Back on-topic: Like someone else stated, look at Air BnBs.
