Go with the hot hand is the way. What excuse do you give if you roll your 40 million backup in and you lose?

We should beat Washington. But then we go to LA to play the Rams. If we lose that game, then what? What if we win?
Dak's target game is to return for the Eagles game.

If we win the next 2 games, and in LA. Yeah, I would be all for keeping Rush in.
Not that I don't think Dak can come in and win, but this is not the same situation.

We win 4 games, and your starter is ready, not like Rush wins 11 games while the starter is still out.

For as much as he says differently, Jerry will not allow Rush to remain the starter should Dak be ready to go back in as that not only would bruise Jerry's ego in giving Dak a 4-year/$160M contract but it would also negatively impact Dak's already questionable psyche.

There is no QB controversy. As well as Rush has played Dak will be back in as soon as he is ready to go. There is no way you bench your 40 million dollar QB after a few good games by his backup. It's not going to happen.

Dak's limitations don't suddenly make Rush more than he is. Rush is doing what you want a back-up QB to do--drive the bus and win a few games while the starter is out. He has a ceiling though and he will eventually hit it, if he hasn't already.

Clearly the observation is based solely on game performance. Any fan can see ever since the injury to his ankle and to his shoulder Dak has not been the same. He plays hesitant and does not trust himself and it as if Dak is not seeing the field or seeing 'ghosts' out there.

The one major thing consistently pointed out by people in this group in comparing Dak to Rush is Rush's ability to read the field and get rid of the ball. Rush is playing with a confidence that we have not seen from Dak since his injuries.

I would still say that Cooper Rush would need to win more games and then come up with great performances against the Rams and/or Eagles for a QB controversy even to be a realistically possibility.

Yes, I have met and been around Dak. He portrays a confident exterior. Underneath all of that is some insecurities.

We would have to see Dak crash and burn in an epic way, I mean epic as in 4 ints 2 fumbles on national tv, for the Joneses to even consider giving the reins to Rush. When Dak gets healthy he plays, money talks.

Every QB has a ceiling. Do we really know what Cooper Rush's ceiling is? Do we have proof that his ceiling is lower than Dak's ceiling? What has Dak won?

There is no quarterback controversy YET. Yet being the key word. Dak and only Dak will make that decision based on how he plays when he gets back on the field. If he comes back and stinks the place up missing receivers and having that deer in the headlight mentality that he has seemed to have lately then the call for Rush will increase to the point I think you will see a change back to him for the rest of the season. If Dak comes back and plays decently then Rush wont see the field until Dak is hurt again.
