but that playcalling on the 1 yard line was horrible.

And why wasn't Barber in the game? He's a better goalline RB then Jones. We probably score a TD there is Barber is in the game.

I can't agree more!

Bledsoe sneak was the call, worked earlier.....They look like last week after first drive, very lethargic

same here. Barber has been very effective down there. Why not stay with whats working.

Personally, I don't think it was the playcalling or Jones' fault either. Looked to me like the OLine just didn't get the job done.

Exactly. Very poor execution.

The OL does not create any kind of push at all....

So it's the OL's fault? So basically the OL blocks good for Barber but crappy for JuJo.

Ok I get it now.

He was trying to send them a message on the 1 yard line. He's saying right now "They still don't get it, I can't get it the way I want them".

On both of Barbers runs, he had a hole and did not make contact untill the goal line. JJ had no hole at all. Simple as that. The O line is INCONSISTANT as hell!!!

That's true.

Sorry Rack but I think you over-reacted on this one.

Over-reacted? No.

The strength of the Lions' D is their interior DL. We ran right into their strength on those 3 plays.

Julius Jones' strength is his speed and quickness, yet we ran him right into the Lion's strength. If we were gonna run JuJo we should of ran at least ONE toss play. If we had to run up the gut, we should of done it with our better goalline runner.

Hey, those yards down there are tough as hell. I do agree with Rack to a degree that Barber has been a better short yardage/goal line runner, not to mention he's still prolly healthier, but that's the toughest place to run when everyone knows you're lining up and going between the heavies.

We are not the only team who had that problem today. I sorta chuckled because I flipped to other games....the Giants did the same thing today vs. Philly at about the same time.

Nuts, Rack- you just made a god post. Ticks me off. Running up the gut against 2 330+ linemen with the shrimp at center is DUMB.

Exactly. At least put Gurode in there if they had to run against those fatties. I think there was a soft spot on one of those runs that maybe Barber would of exploited, but we forced JuJo to use his weakness against the Lions' strength. If we run a toss we probably score.

Hell, if Polite lowers his shoulders and plows through the LB instead of standing straight up he would of scored and we wouldn't of had to run 3 plays from the 1.

Julius didn't hit the holes hard and they were there at the goaline. He was a much better short yardage runner last year. Maybe its the ankle?

Got to see the highlights and on JJ's runs it looked like there was NO MOVEMENT by the line at all= nothing but Lions waiting for JJ.
