I Want to See Hip Drop Tackles on CMC

I know we're not quite there yet, but it's coming soon enough. And when it does, there are no rules against it. So I want to see the Cowboys defense return the favor to 9ers. Of course, I don't want to see anybody hurt or anything like that. I just want to see CMC hip dropped, more than once, to test his durability and repay the favor for Pollard. I can't wait for the San Fran game. It's our turn. This is our year, ladies and gents.

CMC won't last the season. No need to try and hurt him he always seems to get injured. That being said the 49ers are a team that can run the ball no matter who the RB is. This upcoming matchup will be another measuring stick game for the Dallas QB just like the Jets game. The real test will be in the playoffs though.

Call it what you want. I know the 9ers were hip-dropping intentionally on Pollard in the playoffs because they did it at least twice. I'm not saying to hurt the guy but fair is fair. If you're going to hip drop our players, two can play that game. That's all I'm saying.

Class means sticking up for your teammates, in my book. I didn't say to hurt the guy. I said hip drop him. We have the speed to do it.

Are we finally admitting that the hip drop technique is a dirty play that is intended to cause injury?

It's just part of the game. The league met on the issue and decided to keep it as part of the game. I can understand one time, but the 9ers did it to Pollard multiple times. If it's fair game, it's fair game.

Nothing classless about sticking up for your teammates. It's all part of the game.

such a random thread.
Don't play the 49ers at all in the regular season, to be determined in the postseason.

I'm ok with what you call the hip drop tackle. I'm not ok with defense guys diving in at the last millisecond and hitting guys on the ground. I'm shocked the NFL hasn't done more to stop it.

Just re watched the NFC CG last night, Eagles O line dominated the 9ers D line, they really had their way against them, ran the ball at will and kept Hurts clean,

I'm afraid our O line is not at that level yet, we have a good mix and I hope they can stay healthy through out the season, but they need to be more physical, have to keep Dak clean and run the ball or we won't have a shot against that team again. Dak has to get rid of the ball faster too, this is where the no Kellen offense has to make the difference. Short quick routes.

This rivalry reminds me so much of the nineties is unreal.

Take him to the ground by any means necessary. If he gets hurt he gets hurt. It is part of the game. Just win.

You write that you "don't want to see anybody hurt", but you sure do allude to wanting to see CMC hurt as pay back and you seem to be promoting the intent to injure. Dirty is dirty. Be better

Thee term "hip drop tackle" was invented by fans and media in January. That's why there's no rule against. You can't hit their heads, players get mad when you go at their knees, so grabbing by the waist has become more common. When that happens you can land on a leg, especially if the ball carrier is fighting to break the tackle.

Any legal means necessary. I agree, just stop him.
