I would be calling the Dolphins offering them Trey Lance this morning

The Dolphins, of all teams, are a terrible match for him.

Their offense is predicated on timing and precision - athleticism is really an afterthought. Plus, the Shanahan offense is so far removed from what they do in Dallas, it'd be unlikely for him to grasp the playbook on any sort of timetable that would allow him to play.

Lance played under the Shanahan offense while in San Francisco, so it wouldn't be too steep of a learning curve. Mike McDaniel was Lance's OC his rookie season in 2021. Even with that, I doubt Miami would trade anything of value to acquire Lance.

5th or a 6th. His value is not going up!
No one will offer anything for him. He didn’t have a good training camp or preseason. He’s not going to be able to come in and start for anyone this season. He spent a full year with the Cowboys and he couldn’t even beat out Cooper Rush for the backup job.
