There is a lot of blame to go around for the loss, but I was especially disappointed in our defense. I'm wondering if some changes can be made.

How about Burnett coming to spell Ellis some. I like Burnett, he's got a good motor and is faster than Ellis. It would lessen Ellis' plays and may make him more effective. We could also do this with Singleton.

Can we get Carpenter on the field?

At safety I'm not sure what to say. I think Watkins is still the future at FS, but he may not be good enough yet. Does Coleman need to play more?

I'd like to move Ellis back more to DE to spell Spears more and get quicker LBs on the field.

Personally, I like RATLIFF and do not care who he comes in for .....he hustles

His name is Ron English. You might have heard of him, the biggest name in defense right now as Michigan's Defensive Coordinator.

Go back to "work" Bryan8284 - I think we are actually going through these hard times becasue of your Hex... You know, you being a Miami Hurricane fan.

I stopped being a fan once Coker gave his players a pass for carrying weapons since they have to "protect" themselves.

Uhh

Getting rid of Zimrod would be the best thing we could do for this defense.

Zimmer is a bend, don't break kind of guy and the 3-4 is supposed to be attacking, not sit back.

That's the problem.

He's using 4-3 blitzes (if you even call them blitzes) and is not understanding the confusion that 3-4 can create for the other team.

He's not in the right situation and someone needs to be the man here and he needs to go.

I think Ellis is way too slow to play outside linebacker. He gets beat around the sides way too easily.

I'll throw one more thing out there. It's something I've thought about for a while, but haven't said, because I thought I would get flamed, and I'm really not to sure about it.

What about Henry at FS. He's a ballhawk, and a good tackler. Glenn would have to start at CB and Reeves would have to play in the nickle, but I think nailing down the FS spot would mean a lot. Henry had 9 interceptions as a rookie playing FS. Just a thought.

They almost need to go to a bend dont break style of defense, big plays are killing this team. It was pretty obvious the Skins werent going to string together a long drive that resulted in a TD. Why risk giving up big plays when it has been the achilles heal of the defense all season?
