Saints attempt to set Guinness World Record

10/30/2010 12:15:37 PM

According to Dave Walker of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, NBC Sports will have a Guinness World Records representative at the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday night to officially certify the New Orleans Saints-Pittsburgh Steelers game as the world’s largest Halloween gathering.

In addition to the matchup, which pits the past two Super Bowl winners, Halloween night and the prospect of costumed fans was one of the big appeals for NBC in lobbying to carry the game on “Sunday Night Football,” the network’s national prime-time NFL showcase.

“Halloween night in New Orleans was too rich to pass up,” said Fred Gaudelli, “Sunday Night Football” producer. “I think America has never seen anything quite like this, and we intend to take full advantage of it.”

We could do it today. We're the home team.
That was the reason for my reference to the Christmas night game.

Of course we might have a half empty stadium by then also.:

If Halloween were late in this season, and Cowboys Stadium was the venue, the most popular costume would be people dressed as empty seats.

I just realized the Christmas game is in Arizona and I am going. So Jerry couldn't do this for Christmas.

I think we would have been the best team to put out there on Halloween night. Nothing scarier than this version of the Dallas Cowboys, in a bad way.

The trick will be on the Saints when the Steelers benefit from a bag full of beneficial calls that will help them win the game.

No. The game is in Arizona and if Cardinal continue playing bad (like us) they game will not be that hot. It will sellout but to be honest, Arizona fans are far worse than us and they simply will not show up. They will sell their tickets to Cowboys fans...On top of that, Arizona is not exactly a tailgate mecca.

Darn....If the game was in Dallas,we could have set a Guiness world record for most number of lumps of coal brought to the stadium.

:laugh2: at people desperately trying to find anything to make Jones look a little less horrible. Fail.
