...I was not crazy about any of the so called candidates to replace him. There are usually good coaches out there looking for work. I don't feel that was really the case this time.

I'm happy Parcells signed an extension, without even taking the canditates into consideration. I know this team will get better every year he is here so I'm not too worried. Do I think he will bring us to another superbowl? Well, I don't think it's out of the question. However, I do know he will put us in a position to strongly contend in the future, probably after he is gone.

I agree Hos ..... for the life of me I could not come with a name to replace Parcells.

Qne or two years from now maybe that will not be the case.

If BP left, Jerry would have gone all out for another name coach. And guess what, he would be making a lot more than BP got on his extension.

oh god, what if Sean Payton had to replace Parcells...I would denounce the Cowboys forever...

i don't think there was much out there this year.and i'm tickled bill stayed. but had he gone and he let me have a say i would have been calling norm chow on the phone

I am glad that he re-signed as well.....however, lets not forget that these "name" guys were at once "no-names" as well.

Alot was said about Jimmy Johnson not being able to succeed at this level, and those people talked louder after his first year. They were eventually shut up, though.

The only one that I was kind of curious in is Ferentz, because I think we could maintain some continuity there since he's a descendant of the Parcells coaching tree, but you're trading in the trunk of the tree for an outer twig.

Yep, like I noted when it was rumored that he would leave, I didn't want him to leave as much I question some of his moves. No way anyone Jerry can get the prime candidate among the buch, bereft of such.

None of College Coaches intrigue me either other than Wies and he is not going to come. Kirk Frentz I am not so hot on, since I am big ten fan, I don't see what the hoopla about him is, other than Bill Belichek relation. Didn't see anything great from Iowa recently, other than couple of years ago when they had back to back good season if I remember correct. Bob Stoops is another one I can think, also not so hot on either.

Les Miles might be one guy to keep on eye on, next year, if BP leaves, and Les Miles shows the same consistancy at LSU. He impresses me, with how that team played with all the issues they had this year.

He is the only one I was curious about as well Inman.

He is definitely a twig on that tree. :D

He is revered in Iowa. He could probably shore up the OL pretty quick, but he hasn't been able to put Iowa completely over the top yet.

Good coach though.
