The way Eli's playing, wouldn't mind playing the Giants every week for the remainder of the season now. :)

With our T situation, I would rather play Seattle than the NYG.

I saw that as well then turned around at MSNBC and saw this.

Wild-card round, Jan. 7-8

No. 5 Panthers (9-4) at No. 4 Giants (9-4, NFC East leaders)

No. 6 Cowboys (8-5) at No. 3 Buccaneers (9-4, NFC South leaders)

Second round, Jan. 14-15

Lower-ranked team at No. 1 Seahawks (11-2, NFC West winners)

Higher-ranked team at No. 2 Bears (9-4, NFC North leaders)
Explaining the seedings:

Bears seeded ahead of Bucs, Giants, Panthers by best record vs. NFC (Chicago 8-1, N.Y. 8-3, Tampa 7-3, Carolina 6-3)

Cowboys seeded ahead of Vikings, Falcons by best record vs. NFC (Dallas 6-3, Minnesota 7-4, Atlanta 5-4)

ESPN has the giants higher seeded because they have 1 more confrence win at 8-3 so as of right now the one ESPN has is correct for that one simple reason. So ESPN's would be the correct one....

Funny how often "experts" routinely get the tiebreaker stuff totally and completely wrong.

At this point the problem is that most sources are doing some sort of half-arsed analysis of the playoff scenarios. So we end up with conflicting reports - I wouldn't place faith in any of them -- however, from what this and another thread have shown us, it looks to me like the Giant scenario is the correct one.

Playing the Giants in NY in the first round of the playoffs???

I would be very happy with that scenerio.

At this point in the season, I'd be happy with any playoff life.

It would interesting to play the Bucs because of the Key-Galloway trade

If I had the choice between facing the Giants or Bucs I would much rather play the Bucs. I don't have a choice and the Cowboys have yet to lock a playoff spot so at this point I don't care who we face as long as we make it to the post-season

I agree. I also think Dallas can play with any of the teams that appear to be in the playoff picture. Seahawks look to have home field through out the playoffs and is considered the best yet they do not scare me at all.

Wake me with this "playoff matchup" nonsense after we win Sunday.

Will do!!! in the meantime some of us do have faith in our team and feel that this team can make it to post season. For those of little faith I'll make sure to wake you up after sunday so you can get on board. LOL
