If Skins win, what is our draft slot?

What? It's not? There is no "sure-thing". How many "sure things" have busted? How many 7th rounders have turned into very good players? Quite a few on both ends.

That's not quite what he asked though, was it?

My guess is 19 or 20. Picks 21 thru 32 are for the 12 playoff teams so we should be picking right before they do.

Just curious........

I would guess that if the Cowboys win tonight, they will have the only 10 - 6 record not going to the playoffs. That ought to put them into the 20th slot.

Kansas City will too, but I guess head to head keeps us at 20.

If we lose, possibly as high as 15, win, low as 24.
Regardless if we are in the playoffs or not. For example, if an 8-8 division winner, if they lose in the playoffs, will still fall into the 8-8 teams that miss the playoffs. They do not fall into the 21 to 32 slots just because they are in the playoffs.

That would be incorrect. Spots 21-32 are always the 12 playoff teams. Always.

It doesnt work like that. 21-32 is the playoff teams. Whoever is the team to have the worst regular season record starts at 21 and so on. 31 is the SB loser and 32 is the winner. So if we win and dont get in we will get #19 or 20. If we lose we will be in the #15-18 range.

Wrong

I am right, watch and see. The playoff teams will initially be listed as the 21-32 teams. Then adjusted as they drop out of the playoffs. Yes, the SB teams are 31 & 32.
But all else is based on records, the tie breaker being strength of schedule. No matter if you are in the playoffs or not.

Unfortunately, finishing tied at 10-6 with the toughest schedule among the tied teams doesn't mean a thing for making postseason.

Yet finishing 10-6 with the toughest schedule hurts us in the draft...screwed both ways....I'm guessing around 20.

When the afternoon games are over I will know where we pick win or lose.

Check out the statement below the list. I also copied it here.
The Rams & Vikings were in the playoffs last year, yet when they were eliminated, look and see where they drafted at. at 18 & 19.

Note: Each team in a group with the same win-loss record moves down within the group if it advances further than they do in the playoffs. No team moves outside its group, except that the Super Bowl champion will select 32nd and the Super Bowl loser 31st.
