If the Rams don't blitz...

I hope this is not the game where the other team figures out how to stop Romo...he has been begging the other teams we faced to try to get to him on the rush as he uses his dancing feet to get away freeing up Witten and TO...but if the Rams lay back and play safe coverage I hope Garrett will have an answer....I am assuming here that our running game is working well again...

i would think that if they decide not to blitz, and focus on coverage, that Julius and MB3 will have a huge day.

If they give him time to sit in the pocket, he'll slaughter them. When he gets 5 seconds to stand there and you see him start his throwing motion, you can basically guarantee a 20+ yard play.

Quick - name the Rams starting corners for this sunday.

Hell, name anyone in their secondary.

If you got past "Atogwe", or even got to "Atogwe", I'm legitimately impressed.

The bottom line - quit worrying. The Rams are dreadful. Steven Jackson is out. Marc Bulger is playing with broken ribs. Their line is a mess.

Go ahead and sleep through sunday, and log back in on Monday to read about our glorious victory.

Screen plays, draws, and slants will kill that kind of defense. Look for a big day for the RBs, and T.O. and Crayton.

I think that is correct.

This year Romo is much more patient in the pocket. He waits a bit to get someone to open up. Also covering TO, Witten, Crayton , Julius/MB for 5 secs is near impossible .

Garrett and others have said you take what they are giving up. If teams want to take away the deeper routs they can by not blitzing and staying in deeper coverages and if they do we have to be willing to take the shorter routs and start running the ball more. Last thing you want to do is force things that are not there.

When the Bears stacked the line and we had problems running against them we passed almost every time and ate them alive. Garrett isn't like Parcells and our other previous OCs who would stick with a gameplan whether it was working or not. If something isn't working then he will try something else.

:hammer:

It's no secret that Garrett wants to go down field, and not putting pressure on Romo would be quick death for the shams.

Why do sooooo many Cowboys fans seem still unsure of our QB?? I don't get it.

See the Giants game...Romo had all day to throw in that game and just carved them up. Im comfortable either way. If they come after him we have too many weapons and will hit the occasional big play, on the flip side our weapons cannot be covered for long without a pass rush.

I haven't had time to enter in the stats on the Chicago game, but once I do, I could tell you on the season how well Romo does against 3 rushers or 5 in protection, whichever is more relevant.

Don't think it matters as they're another of those wannabe-tampa 2 teams. They'll be rushing 4 a majority of the time.

I agree. The Bears stacked the line and we went after them down field. Teams will see this and I expect they will try a different approach which is what I'm hearing from the Rams. If they want to back off the line of scrimmage and not blitz then Dallas has to show the ability to be patient with the shorter passes and the running game.

Beats me there are some non-Cowboys fans, that will still say that sooner or later defenses will figure him out:rolleyes:, Here's another line I love to hear from the likes of Skip Gayness, he's not that great in the pocket and the only way he can make plays is outside the pocket yada, yada, yada, yada.

If that is the case then ask all three teams Romo, carved up the G-Men, Dolphins, and Bears whether or not he's good in the pocket and we all know what the answer will be an astounding Hell Yeah.

If the Rams, want to come into the game with that defensive gameplan then JuJu, and MB3 might end up having a huge game rushing so let them pick their poison.

I think its a win/win situation for the cowboys. as you guys have mentioned if they come after Romo, he'll destroy em with T.O and Witten downfield. if they decide to back off, I think Barber will just carve them up. i see it very hard for other teams to stop Dallas completely. yes its very possible, but it would take Dallas to have a real bad game or sumthing.

Agree, but there's also a player named Whitten that can create havok by in zone coverage.

If people cant stop romo by now then htey will never figure out how to stop him...he torches you with His arm, feet and smarts.

All garret has to do is unleash the hounds...The Rams are garbage...Healthy or not, they are terrible.
