If we win out and Minny loses out, we can get a first round bye? WOW!

He would've thunk that? And it's very possible with the way these teams are playing now.

The Vikes next game is in Chicago. That's a hard place to play at this time of the year with an old QB and the swirling winds. Plus a divisional rival.

they won't lose to chicago.... they are awful. And even if that does happen, we would have to finish a game ahead of the cardinals because according to the yahoo playoff thing they own the tiebreaker.

You forgot about Arizona,if Arizona wins out also, and there is a 3 way tie between Dallas,Minnesota, and Arizona at 11-5,then Arizona gets the #2 seed and the 1st round bye.

as someone said in another thread, you do know that Jay Interception Machine Cutler is playing for the Bears? I think he has more receiving yards to his opponents than to his own team.

Division rival! Hello? The game's gonna be in Chicago! Bad Weather!

And it just might happen that the guy that they traded 2 1st round picks for just might come out.

Hard to believe that we have the chance to be the 2nd seed, and beat Minny and Az at home to reach the SB.

Also hard to believe that, in all liklihood, if we don't beat the Skins, we're either out of the playoffs, or we'll have to beat the Eagles two weeks in a row.

The most i'm hoping for is that Minesota loses 1 more and are forced to play for the first round bye in week 17.

If we win out it doesn't matter but should we lose 1 that could be the difference maker

The strangest part is, especially if the game is Sunday Night, that we could go into the last game looking at drastically different situations depending on the outcome. Win and you're the #2 seed with a bye, lose and you're completely out of the playoffs.

A Chicago win would be great because Minny would have to play their starters against NY in the finale (which we may need NY to lose).

Minn will have to play their starters Week 17 regardless of whether or not they win next week in Chicago, if the Eagles win next week against Denver.

That much is true. The playoff scenarios this late in the year are bizarre. We can go anywhere from the 2 seed to out of the playoffs.

Some scenarios have the Giants facing us in Dallas in the wild card round. I would actually welcome that versus a Philly rematch.

Uhhh Farve didn't play in a dome until this season. Green bay wasn't exactly the Bahamas.;)

If you wan to face the Giants, root for Denver to beat Phili and the Giants to win next week versus Carolina.

Then if the Giants beat Minnesota, we will play them if we beat Skins and Phili.

By the way, if the Eagles are in the playoffs already.

Yeah, and the last time Favre faced Chicago, in 2007, with his great packers team, in that bad weather condition. Chicago beat them 35 to 7.

Favre was 17/32 for 153 yards, 0 TDs and one int. It's a tough place for an old QB to play and pretty bad conditions-weather wise and a divisional rival.

He's also made himself a great career in those conditions. There's
a bunch of teams that would love to have that old man right now.
