If you can only fix one, would you fix rushing offense or run D this offseason?

Run Defense. Because Dallas has good CBs, so teams would have to pass into a strength. McCarthy teams don't run the ball well anyway, so draft another really good WR and air raid the league
Agree to an extent…but still want to see some progression in the run game.

Clearly both are needed. Make your argument!

A strong run game travels, keeps your defense fresh and is able to close out games in that final 4 minute window. Opposing teams will play more aggressive knowing they may not see the football again for long stretches. When this Cowboy team has been most successful over the last 20 years, it's when they had a dominate rushing attack!
That’s a really good question and as you stated they both need to be fixed and I feel like we can fix them. It would be hard for me to choose because of the simple fact that fixing the run game takes the ball out of Dak hands in crucial times, but we’ve been able to score all over the field so stopping the run would probably be my choice because it keeps the Offense off the field.

There are arguments from both sides, you can say the same thing about the offense keeping the defense on the sidelines if they are able to move the sticks and possess the football. That's what they did in Dak's rookie season with a much worse defense.

I think my biggest concern is focusing mainly on the offense against good teams is we're going to continue to ask Dak to be superman for us to make a legit run.

Look at how some of the other games worked out in the playoffs. Lamar had a slow start and couldn't get anything going in the 1st half against HOU but the D played great and kept them in it UNTIL the O got rolling. Same thing for SF against TB. Purdy was awful, and got away with multiple should have been picks, but the D played stout and kept it close until the O was able to close it out.

That's championship football IMO. For the Cowboys whenever we have a slow start on O against a good team the game is over at halftime.

That's also an excellent point, like I said we can make a strong argument either way, neither opinion is wrong. This just shows how we need to be able to fix both. In reality, the hope is the team improves in both areas but neither will be fully fixed in just 1 offseason. Question is how to accomplish this in yr 1 of the plan?

I agree!!

I’m hoping that Jerry’s surprise’s us and gets aggressive in FA if I see this then I’m going to Believe

That’s the only way I’m believing…if they “run it back” and count on draft picks to get us over the hope we’ll be looking at the same result.

Run defense because at worst I’d think we stop being soft
