News: 'I'm 100 miles per hour': Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown impresses in debut

CLEVELAND -- Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown had to do a lot of watching during his first season in the NFL.

He remembered watching last year's season-opening win over the Giants from a California hotel room as he awaited surgery to fix his recently torn ACL. He remembered standing on the sidelines throughout the season, watching his teammates play, but wishing -- and visualizing -- it could be him out there. In those moments, he'd repeat something to himself over and over again.

"I would've made that play," Overshown recalled thinking. "I would've made that play."

Overshown sure made up for lost time on Sunday.


Instead of watching, the Cowboys' second-year linebacker was playing a starring role in the Cowboys' 33-17 road win over the Cleveland Browns.

I was impressed. Overshown makes plays all over the field. He covers TEs, and he catches running QBs trying to escape the pocket. He had 9 tackles and a sack yesterday, and his 9 tackles were all over the field not just in his immediate area of responsibility. He made sideline tackles on both sides of the field. His sack was catching Watson trying to run out of the pocket to the right. Overshown flew past everyone to tackle Watson before he could get positive yards.

Kendricks, whom I had doubts about, and Overshown are huge upgrades over our LBs of the past few years. Overshown look to be the LB we hoped LVE would be.

not even close look LVE was meant to be a middle linebacker IE BIG bruiser, Overshown more weakside OLB type more similar to Parsons coming out. hes an absolute steal in the 3rd round, i watched him his whole college career as a Longhorns fan and he was like this most games..just needs to stay healthy.

Kendricks is what we hoped from LVE but health has been both their issues.
