Why because now BP can get into the teams ***, and we can be hungry and ready for the Commanders. We had way to much hype going into the season, and the team just wasnt mentally ready to get out there and compete for 60 miuntes. Now that they've been taught that they still have to play and EARN that NFC crown, Its gonna be on Sunday night. I for one see this as more of a plus, than a negative. I would rather lose now then at the end

(yes we had some people play bad bla bla bla, but i think it was more our team wasnt mentally prepared for the game, then anything else. I hope BP just tears into the team, and just wears them out, I hope the hollering im hearing right now is BP cussing out someone on the team.........wait no its just some idiots on the floor lol.)

in a way i agree. now that loss showed the team that they are beatable. i still have high expectations for this team

Why would you be glad that the team lost?

The Commanders swept us last.

In the first game they embarrased us towards the end and snatched away a clear victory.

In the 2nd game, they totally destroyed us and they are still scrapping our bodies off of the field.

Gibbs vs Parcells

Commanders vs Cowboys

If you need to lose in Week 1 to get motivated for this game....then I dont understand it.

I look at like this

WE got swept last year by the skins, the D got burned for 24 straight points. by the Jags, there gonna be hungry, there gonna be hot, and its gonna be on. The game is at home to. the D is gonna wanna redeem themselves for their pathtic showing.

Commanders WILL DIE SUNDAY NIGHT.

I agree except with Bledsoe it will be up and down all year. That's not changing. We just have to hope next week he's on the up.

I said before the game we didn't deserve the hype, especially on D as we hadn't done anything and our D was nothing special at the end of last season when played our last real game.

It was all stupid meida talk that started when Madden simply said the Cowboys' D was the best thing he had seen in pre-season. Well guess what? Pre-season doesn't mean jack squat!

Love the logic here ... let's carry it to it's logical conclusion ...

I hope we lose the next 14 games, because then we'll be really hungry when we face the Eagles Christmas day!

Yeah, but we'll have an awesome draft pick !!!

Of course the Commanders are our major rivals, and of course we want the team to be pumped up and ready to beat them next week.

But it's stupid to be happy about any loss, since the ultimate goal is making the playoffs, any loss is unacceptable.

Any team's defense would give up 24 straight points if its offense couldn't sustain drives to reduce the number of scoring opportunities for the other team's offense. In the first quarter, our offense made its presence known. Then, it disappeared for 2 1/2 quarters. The old saying, "The best defense is a good offense" is essential for teams to succeed.

I didnt see us giving up 24 straigt points, in 2003 when we had an inept offense.

Bottom line, those guys were getting burned left and right

All 3 of our CB's got schooled by a second year WR. and i dont care how tall he is, they just failed against every WR they went against. If they continue ot play like this, our offense wont be able to save them

Any team who doesn't come out jacked on opening day has internal issues, starting with the head motivator.

Am i saying that i wanted us to lose no. But maybe just maybe there was something good to come of this loss.

Because last year after we won a tough road game, we got burned by the skins. Maybe this time, we will kill them

This is goofy. Winning now wouldn't have meant we would lose in the end.

Losing is not a good thing - it would have been much better to come out fired up and prepared from the begininng than to have to work on that after the first game.

I would argue that, at least in some games, the 2003 offense displayed more ball control than the offense did yesterday. Let's be honest. When the offense went totally inept for 2 1/2 quarters, they had the ball eight times (nine if you count the possession seven seconds before the half). Your defense is going to suffer if your offense provides THIS kind of 'support':
Code:
                T.O.P Result
 3rd possession: 1:32 Punt
 4th possession: 1:05 Punt
 5th possession: 3:11 Punt
 6th possession: 1:44 Interception
 8th possession: 1:57 Punt
 9th possession: 5:40 Missed FG
10th possession: 0:32 Punt
11th possession: 2:04 Interception

Let's not count the Jaguars last possession 14 seconds before the end of the game. Out of 12 Jacksonville possessions, our defense held them to a single field goal on nine drives.

If our offense had done its job, it would have kept the Jaguars offense off the field more often--thus reducing their actual three scoring opportunities IF it had held unto the ball for more than 17 1/2 minutes during the scoring drought. IF it had scored on one or more of those eight drives, we would've won and nobody would be criticizing the defense for allowing 24 straight points.

This is more about the offense not being offensive enough for over half the game yesterday--not about our defense staying on the field way too much and preventing a good Jaguar offense from outscoring us.

*edit*

Those T.O.P. results are a quick recipe for a loss. Execution was poor in those 2 1/2 quarters, yep, and a good team like Jax capitalized. There are some positives to build on from yesterday. To get back in the win column this team just has to get better, and in a hurry; and a vet like Bledsoe simply has to raise his level of play, no ifs ands or buts.
Like has been said, a few contenders and very good teams took "L's" yesterday.

Did I say you said you wanted us to lose? You said you were "glad". I said it's stupid to be "happy". They're synonyms ...
