I get it... no liking the Eagles if you're a cowboys fan.
Barkley went to the Eagles, and he made a huge difference FOR the team IMO.
Nothing Barkley said or did make me not like him this year, actually the opposite. The guy seems like a decent man and a better teammate, even though for all I know he beats his wife when he's home and it doesn't make the news.
I was hoping to see history made with Barkley wiping Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record because he was close. The more Eric Dickerson opened his mouth complaining about Barkley's extra game he has now, the more I wanted Barkley to beat it (even though Dickerson had 2 extra games when HE broke the record).
Barkley sat out in his last game because they wanted everyone rested for the playoffs.
Barkley didn't complain and he towed the party line.
Honestly, thought they would lose in the playoffs which made him sitting out a mistake personally for Barkley.
The only thing Barkley talked about was winning the superbowl and personal records don't matter unless you "win the big one". I honestly think he was right because all the records don't mean jack if you can't call yourself the world champions IMO.
Barkley didn't have a big game in the superbowl, but I do think he made a difference because I believe the Chiefs were determined to stop Barkley come heck or high water, which they did, but being that football is a TEAM SPORT, the eagles were able to play KC's defense perfectly with Hurts passing and running.
Barkley did get the all time single season (including playoffs) rushing record because he played in the superbowl. He got what he told people he really wanted, and although I don't necessarily like the eagles winning the game (I was more against the chiefs than I was for the eagles), I am happy that it seems like a decent guy actually got what he wanted in the world of sports.
Sad to say, I like the guy. Sue me!
