When we need to bring the heat on passing downs:

DE- Hatcher
DT- Ratliff
DE- Ellis
OLB- Ware
OLB- Spencer
ILB- CArp
ILB- Burnett

Is that not a sick D or what?

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Hatcher can do next season. IMO, he'll be the best player out of last years draft (sorry Carp)

Oh, Hatcher will be explosive this year, especially used as a situational player. It will be interesting to see what players Wade uses in what packages. I know he has the tools to accomplish what he wants to with this defense.

You are leaving out the secondary...

RC - Henry [toaster....]
LC - Newman
FS - Watkins [Can he play?...]
SS - Williams
Nickel - A Glenn [just as bad...]

I am not sure about Burnett. Akin did a good job last year and you can't have all pass and no run defense. I am also not sure Ellis is coming back. The Spencer draft has me wondering if his rehab isn't coming along.

no, uneducated one, you are forgetting Hamlin and of course Henry, a very good CB when healthy. You really need some professional help with your henry hatred.

Thats not really a Nickel line-up as there would still only be 4 defensive backs on the field.

On the ticket they talked about Ellis rehab and said he was right on track and doing all the same skills as the other players. But his rehab is definitely going well, but of course he hasn't actually played in any scrimmages/preseason games so we will have to wait for that. But we gotta be concerned until we actually see it cause he is 32 but Ellis is a workout warrior and team will ensure he follows strick guidelines so as not to overwork anything at this point. He's got almost 3 more months to toally rehab so there plenty of time so long as he returns to full form--if not.......

Right, you would have to remove one of the ILB for a Nickel Corner!

RC - Henry [great number 2 guy]
LC - Newman
FS - Watkins [showed flashes as a rookie last year]
SS - Williams
Nickel - A Glenn [great veteran with alot left in the tank]

Fixed it .....

Nickel is 4 DL and 2 LB. It will probable look more like:

DE - Hatcher/Ellis
DT - Ratliff
DT - Spears/Canty
DE - Ware/Spencer
LB - Burnett
LB - Carpenter

Getting Bradie off the field on passing downs is GOOD.

we are going 4-3 in the nickel...its hatcher, ratliff in the middle...ware and spencer on the ends...ellis may fit in there too sometimes...and carp...bottom line is we now have 6 good passrushers...you cant have enough in wade phillip's defense...spears and canty better get it together...
