Can we please keep it up. The league is a pass to run league. I think mccarthy figured that out in the cardinals game or something woke him up. You heard greg olsen say when he talked to him during the week, that they were running way too much in a basic summary. It was like 54-46 i think. You got to look at your talent and dak has to take the team as far as he can. Its the same with most qb's. The first 3 weeks it was like conservative city with a veteran. Something you do with a backup or young guy. Let him loose. Thats the only way were winning a championship.

Observations

red zone issues: you need to give ceedee lamb most of the first options. Too many times is dak trying to force ferguson imo. A couple qb draws wouldn't hurt.

Cooks: this is not his offense. For a guy who gets a 1000 everywhere he goes, hes gonna be lucky to get 500. Hes supposed to be the hr hitter but yet how many chances has he had? Cooks is a good player but in this offense i would play tolbert over him just bcuz his size fits the play calling more. Im high on tolbert if he gets a chance. Hes huge right now size wise and imo is just being held back by playing time. Hes ready.

Gilmore: he can cover every pass but the crossing route. He has mad trouble on that. He was traded for this week though along with philly. I think they wanted gilmore on either deebo or Aikuk and diggs on the other one. In philly, gilmore on brown. If I remember right he plays him good and diggs on smith. Diggs usually shuts him down. But with diggs hurt hopefully bland, a more finesse corner, can hang in there with the second wr. Hes a baller.

Run defense: we do good but then we get hit for 10 alot. Gotta cut the 10 yard runs out. Besides arizona, they been decent. The test is this week and the philly week.

Rookies: i think mazi smith is going to be fine in his 2nd and 3rd year. Hes playing good right now but has room to improve. One thing to remember about a player like smith, his stats will always look like hes a bust when in reality its all about him taking up blocks. He has all the tools. He should watch vita veta tape. Also, it might sound weird bcuz the dude is huge and strong, i think he should put on 10-15 more pounds. You need that to hold up blocks. I think hes 6'3 320.

The michigan te schoomaker i am mad worried about. Watching tape of him before the season i thought he was a hunter henry type. The kid has shown me nothing. Not even a glimpse of positivity. He looks like hes built like erik bjorenson if you remember him. However, its early and you got to give him time to get better but like i said i have yet to notice even a glimpse of a future te. Im giving him time though.

Cowboys need to beat sf. We lose most big games. We need to turn that around this week.

I am surprised we have not had 10 threads about Mazi this week. I guess since he played decent, they can't start those threads.

I think Schoonmaker will be fine, he is still learning a lot of things.

Just fix the red zone offense and get TD's, that is my biggest concern right now.

Offense was fine. Defense was incredible again. Hope the defense plays like this forever. Hope the offense can step up if and when we need them.

Well that's it then isn't. The players and team have to "play decent". AT least MOST of the time. It'll be a nicer place around here....I think.:)

The only dumb playcall I saw was on that 3rd and 1 from the Patriots 5 yard line. Dak took like a 10 yard sack. I think the game was all but over. The Patriots weren't moving the ball, so it didn't matter what Dak did. But you absolutely need a TD, you can't go from 3rd and 1 from the 5, to 4th and 15. That can't happen.

Well other than lack of redzone success, I like how we are keeping the defense off the field and fresh late in games. It will also help the defense late in the season. No more 3 and out with 3 long passes and trot the defense out again

Don't care for the horizontal WCO principles at all.
Running or passing.
Cooks downfield/ stretch the dee component is non existent.

Red Zone failures are a joke.
Fortunately, the defense and special teams are killing it though.

so we going back to passing more like Moore.
Yes and no. It really depends on the opponent, the score, and the situation.

Even MM said the Moore offense wasn't broken. The issue was when certain plays were called. There's a fine line between being aggressive and being reckless. So far I think the Cowboys are doing a great job of making plays while not forcing the issue just to pad statistics.

Outside of the red zone, of course.

I think that play was a touchdown but Chuma Edoga totally blew his assignment and let a free rusher in on Dak. If I recall correctly there were a couple guys open in the endzone on that one.

Yeah, they definitely should rip that "take a ten-yard sack" play out of the playbook. It's weird they had that one in there to begin with.

I saw very little difference in the play calling. WE have run soo many times because we are destroying people.

As far as schoonmaker he is doing great blocking. They give him little chances as a pass catcher, but we do see an uptick in targets once we gets into the redzone.

At this point he has taken over the #2 TE role from Hendershot.

Gotta laugh at the fans that still think sacks are a QB stat. Especially that one.

And then gotta love the assumption that multiple guys were open in the endzone and Dak just decided to take a sack.
Fans will see what they want to see.

Yeah, someone blew an assignment. I just didn't like the play call that put the QB 10 yards behind the LOS in that situation.
