In 2008 the Cowboys were this powerful

Before Parcells left, Jerry built the strongest offensive line in the NFL. Jason Garrett and Tony Romo were insistent on the passing game, but the Cowboys were going no where.
Suddenly Tashard Choice and Felix Jones were given the opportunity to carry the offense, and the result was an explosion. The Cowboys beat the previously undefeated Saints along the way, and in the game that would determine the NFC East champion they ran all over the Eagles. The very next week they did it again, with Choice and Jones combining for over 200 yds in each game.
Just as suddenly as the run game materialized, Garrett and Romo abandoned it vs the Vikings in the divisional round, resulting in a 35-3 drubbing. The Cowboys never used Tashard Choice and Felix Jones in tandem again.
Now we have a real head coach in Mike McCarthy, and now that they have found what fuels this offense, hopefully they will stick with it.
That is the key to success in the playoffs. We've been here before.

Welp, haven't heard Trashard Choice mentioned in quite a while. We are really digging deep now for analogies. Who was that female on the Lunch Break that used to puff him up every chance back then?

That was 2009 and anybody who remembers that team and the Vikings playoff game remembers how bad that OL was.
In 2009 the Eagles drilled the Cowboys. The Cowboys didn’t even make the playoffs. Who can forget the Eagle defender pushing Marion Barber out of bounds while stripping the ball from him and taking off the other way.
Then in 2010 Wade Phillips had the number 1 defense through five games, but Romo kept throwing interceptions in his own end, and the Cowboys were 1-8 after the massacre in Green Bay that got Phillips fired. But it was the offense under Garrett and Romo that was so bad.

Actually in the 2009 season, Cowboys were 11-5, won the East and won a playoff game (against the eagles). In 2008 the Cowboys were a disappointing 9-7, missed the playoffs, and got drilled by the eagles in the last game of the season when the division was on the line. Is that what you were thinking?

That was the 2008 season.

2009 expectations were lower. TO was released and no one knew who miles Austin was until he torched the Chiefs in KC in week 5 (I think).

It was the year Romo started taking better care of the football after throwing like 3 picks in a loss to the Giants to open AT&T— then Cowboys Stadium.

Probably the best game I’ve ever witnessed at ATT stadium was that eagles playoff game. Heck, that was probably the best cowboys game I’ve witnessed anywhere.
Winning playoff games been kinda rare round these parts for way too long!
