Indy Car Driver died today in wreck

Terrible crash. His car flew threw the air and collided into the wall. RIP Wheldon.

Worst crash I ever saw. You knew it wasn't good when they started up the rotor blades on the medical evac chopper.

RIP Dan Weldon

I am immensely saddened by this. Dan was an amazing talent, a first class person. The world is much worse off today.

Like Ayrton Senna, Dan died doing what he most loved on this planet, racing cars. If you could ask either of them, I'm absolutely certain they would tell you that they would want it no other way.

Rest in pease Dan Wheldon. And Ayrton.

Very sad and sobering day for those of us who follow racing. That wreck was the worst thing I have ever seen at a race track. I have followed primarily NASCAR but go to the Indy car races that are held in Nashville and those machines are fast and they are very dangerous. The open cockpit and the open wheels make for a bad combination with respect to safety.

But the drivers accept this and they deal with this everyday.

RIP Dan Wheldon. You gave us some great racing.

This one hit to close to home been a really bad day. This sport is brutally ugly at its worst.

I have been wondering how it would affect you.

That's a remarkable and very sad video. Didn't expect it to begin with a comment that some were concerned that too many cars were in the race.

I don't follow the sport so I have no opinion other than what a sad and tragic crash.

Terrible crash, but unfortunately it was bound to happen sooner or latter! Indy cars doing pack racing on high banked tracks build for stock cars. Add in the crapwagons they run that take flight too easy! Such a shame, had the pleasure to meet Dan Wheldon he was a super guy!

Really hated to see this happen. Wheldon was a class act and will be sorely missed. I pray for this wife and kids as they cope with this tragedy

Yeah been in a funk all week. Typically whenever Indycar is out west I will go to the race. As it is a rare chance for me to see friends/family in person. I just couldn't make this race though and I'm glad I didn't. When I saw the yellow tarps come out I knew what was coming.
