Did a couple drafts yesterday while the Masters was in a rain delay. Have at it.
Draft 1
Pick 40 – Steve Avila (IOL)
Pick 79 – Luke Schoonmaker (TE)
Pick 90 – Kendre Miller (RB)
Pick 129 – Xavier Hutchinson (WR)
Pick 185 – Stetson Bennett (QB)
Pick 244 – Jonah Tavai (DI)
Wasn’t looking TE @ 79 but value at other positions was not I was looking for and Schoonmaker to me has been not much more than an afterthought until I watched his Iowa tape. This kid can block and was surprising getting out of his breaks.
Tried to position myself in the 120 range to pick up Zacch Pickens and I wiffed. Martin was the best value at DT (Perhaps the kid from Coastal Car.) I could find when I selected him. Doubled-down with a guy (Tavai) who’s seems to locate the ball well and plays with fairly violent hands. Maybe one of these two can stick.
I like Bennett as a back-up, and to be honest, his deep ball at the combine impressed/surprised the hell out of everyone.
Draft 2
Pick 26 – Myles Murphy (DE)
Pick 117 – Johnathan Mingo (WR)
Pick 126 – Owen Pappoe (LB)
Pick 135 – Israel Abanikanda – (RB)
Pick 184 – Brodric Martin (DI)
Pick 212 – Stetson Bennett (QB)
Pick 244 - Mohamoud Diabate (LB)
3rd Round 2024 Selection from NYJ
4th Round 2024 Selection from NYJ
Missed Smith and Benton so I positioned myself with a couple picks in the low 100 range for Zacch Pickens and missed again. This guy is obviously my white whale. That’s what most of those trades are centered around.
Liked the value I was able to get at 111 and 117.
Thought Pappoe could be a fun piece for Quinn and was pleased to nab Abanikanda @ 135.
Any time PFF wants to leave Bennett on the board that deep into the draft - I’ll take him.
Draft 2 had 9 selections plus a couple to play with in 2024 so I’ll take it.
Although I don’t consider the PFF board to be true (Myles Murphy at 26?) to what we’re going to see, it still offers the fun exercise of Playing Jerry Jones without having the mental pitfalls that accompany being Jerry Jones.
BTW, PFF only let me select two rounds this A.M.

Draft 2
Pick 26 – Myles Murphy (DE)
- Traded picks 58 and 90 for picks 67 and 68
- Traded pick 68 for picks 112, 143, 207, and a 3rd and 4th round selection from the Jets in 2024
- Offered picks 112, 169, and 207 to 9ers for picks 101 and 173
- Turned right around and sent 101, 129, and 143 to the Pats for 107, 117, 135, and 184
- Targeted one guy I liked so swapped my 107th and 173rd for 111 and 126.
Pick 117 – Johnathan Mingo (WR)
Pick 126 – Owen Pappoe (LB)
Pick 135 – Israel Abanikanda – (RB)
