What matters is type of internet, i.e. ATT broad band? Hughes Net is satellite internet which has slower upload speeds and is fairly expensive. If you can provide more details of the technology of what you’re considering, we can help out some more.I have ATT, but I've been having trouble with it for a couple of months now. It is also very slow. Thinking of getting Hughes Net. Any info or thoughts are appreciated.
I live in a ranch, the ATT lines run about 1000 ft to their port. Because of this I only run speeds of about 4mps and my smart TVs keep dropping the signal because their service slows down every few minutes. What matters is type of internet, i.e. ATT broad band? I’ve never used it but a quick search shows a lot of disappointment:I live in a ranch, the ATT lines run about 1000 ft to their port. Because of this I only run speeds of about 4mps and my smart TVs keep dropping the signal because their service slows down every few minutes.
I guess what I'd like to know is info on Hughes Net.
I pay that for cable and it's 24-2, the highest they offer in this area. They have 100 in other areas but not here.Is there a point to point service in your area?
I know a few people very happy with the speeds they are getting.
kinda pricey ~80 month
Unless you live in the mountains somewhere, you will regret getting Hughes Net. Satellite internet is slow and has painful data caps. Its also very expensive. What kind of ATT service do you have. Fiber or DSL? I have ATT and its incredibly fast. Who is your local cable company?I have ATT, but I've been having trouble with it for a couple of months now. It is also very slow. ATT dsl. No cable out here. Tech just left, he got it working again. Hopefully it'll last. ThanksUnless you live in the mountains somewhere, you will regret getting Hughes Net. No cable out my way. Tech came out and created a more direct line to my routes phone jack. Working right now. Keeping my fingers gets crossed!Know a few people that have tried Hughes and dumped it, Satellite internet is iffy, that's why DirecTV gave up on DirecPC. If sat was as good, the big companies would have moved to that instead of the expense of laying cable and fiber optics.
Your proximity is the issue and I had the same problem with ATT in OK and they tried everything to fix it because I was the first to try it in the largest complex in the town and that was DSL, not U-Verse or fiber. They gave up after setting me up on my own hub, it would not stay connected.
Cable is your best option but where you live probably isn't one. But what have you got to lose trying Hughes? If it doesn't work as well as ATT, you can always go back.
Yeah, the problem with DSL is the distance your service has to travel which I am sure you have been told/found out by now.ATT dsl. No cable out here. Tech just left, he got it working again. Hopefully it'll last. Thanks
wow surprised u can log in here with that speed.I live in a ranch, the ATT lines run about 1000 ft to their port. Because of this I only run speeds of about 4mps and my smart TVs keep dropping the signal because their service slows down every few minutes.
