Could this case get any more pathetic?

A police supervisor who was on duty the night a woman accused NFL star Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault has resigned, the police chief in Milledgeville, Georgia said Friday.

Sgt. Jerry Blash resigned this week, but Chief Woodrow Blue of the Milledgeville Police Department declined to say why. Blash interviewed Roethlisberger as part of the police investigation.

Blash is widely reported to have been photographed posing with Roethlisberger the night a 20-year-old woman complained that the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback sexually assaulted her.

A prosecutor decided this week that he would not pursue criminal charges against Roethlisberger, saying he could not prove that a crime had been committed.

The good old resignation. Forced no doubt just to save face on both sides.

We're told the Milledgeville Police officer -- Sergeant Jerry Blash -- turned in his resignation yesterday. He had been with the force for 8 years.

In the report, investigators claim that on the night of the alleged incident, Blash admitted that after he encountered the accuser, he may have made a comment similar to "this f*cking ***** is drunk" or "this ***** is drunk off her *** accusing Ben of assaulting her."

Investigators also report that on the night of the incident, Blash informed the accuser and her friends that "Roethlisberger has a lot of Money" and if the women were to follow through with a police report, they "would be wasting their time."

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Blash was given a lose-lose option -- resign...or be fired.

FYI -- Blash is the same guy who posed for photos with Ben hours before he was approached by the alleged victim outside the Capital City nightclub in Georgia.

At least some justice was severed if any of that was remotely true he needed to lose his job.

If the story of what happen is even close to being true about Ben's Bodyguard/Buddy cops should also be fired from their Police force.

That is another thing why are his bodyguard (cops) getting a free pass when they are off duty cops they are suppose to serve and protect and it looks like they could be part of what happen.

Say hello to Ben's newest bodyguard...................

I would've fired his *** for not doing his job when reporting to the scene. Thank God this 'cop' didn't show up to Heidi Fliess' home. The pictures may have been pornographic.

I thought Ben didn't like his photo being taken.
