For those of you who have an iPad, what are your favorite native apps on it? By native apps I mean apps made for specifically to support the iPad rather than iPhone/iPod Touch apps.

I was in the Apple store today getting my iPhone 4 replaced (issue with the front-facing camera) and I was so darn close to picking one up. It's the news apps that are drawing me to it. I don't receive physical newspapers anymore because of the ease of online reading, but I really like how the news apps sort of bridge the gap between physical papers and online news.

It brings a whole other feel to reading newspapers online. I feel like I have more desire to sort of poke around the newspaper and not just look at what's on the front page. That's what I miss from reading a physical newspaper where you'd basically flip from front to back and catch more articles.

Any IT guys ever read technical books using the Kindle App for the iPad?

I'm always buying technical books and was thinking about getting the iPad to buy the books through the Kindle app.

You should hold off until the 2nd one comes out.

That's what I'm thinking, but I don't know why. It's not like there's any new feature I'm expecting that would warrant holding off.

Then when the second one comes out, wait until the third ones are released to get one .. though you usually cannot go wrong with the fourth ones.

I absolutely love my iPad and I own desktops/towers and laptops. The only complaint I have is the price but for the iPad itself, I have not had a single issue with it. In fact, the only negative thing I can really say about it is that it's so enjoyable to use that I tend to use it too much :D

Multi-tasking would be nice.

That'll be available when they release iOS 4 for it in the fall, no new hardware required.

Looking forward to that feature :D

Quoted for Truth.

No way would I get one now after seeing the tech in the iPhone 4.

Think they'll put the front facing cam in the next one.

Being able to video chat would be a pretty sweet addition.

You do realize that the iPhone 4 is the FOURTH generation iPhone right? You are basing your logic of holding off getting a first generation iPad because of issues with the fourth generation of iPhone? .. a CELLPHONE?

If you would actually do some research you would find very quickly that the iPad release was one of the smoothest Apple's ever had for any of their devices.

I love my iPad and I follow most of the Apple fan sites and forums daily and about the only complaint there has been with the iPad is that AT&T (not Apple) dropped their $30/month unlimited 3G access plan and replaced it with a $25/month for 2GB of bandwidth plan.

However, those of us who got our iPads before June 7th (in other words, those of us who did NOT wait) get to enjoy the no longer available option of the unlimited 3G plan.

All I can say is that the iPad is awesome and for unlimited 3G, I am VERY glad I did not wait.

If I want to video chat, I'll buy a new phone .. video chatting is extremely overrated IMO especially on a small device. I could care less if they ever add a built-in camera to the iPad.
