Rumors of the iPad mini with a 7" screen have surfaced and is expected to go on sale around September.

September 2nd, the Samsung Galaxy Tab with a 7" screen and Android 2.2 will be unveiled also.

I think the smaller screen size will be a boon for both the iPad mini and this device. I'm damn happy it will hook up to your PC and has a SD card slot.

The rumors are now reality: Samsung on Tuesday showed the world its first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the company's new 7-inch tablet.

Samsung posted a teaser video on its Web site; (see link above) Samsung Mobile will release more information about the Galaxy Tab on September 2 in advance of IFA Berlin 2010. Meanwhile, speculation builds that Apple will also release a 7-inch version of the iPad at a September event.

The details on the Galaxy Tab are thin, but here's what we know thus far. The Tab will run on Android 2.2 and feature full Web-browsing and video calling. The short clip also implied that the Galaxy Tab will sport an HD screen for video, Flash support (something it seems the iPad will never have), support for e-books, possible GPS navigation, and PC linking. The few shots of the screen's keyboard look promising, as do the brief flashes of the built-in apps. The device itself is black, with a few buttons below the touch display and the Samsung logo up top. There's no word on pricing yet.

I think that the iPad market will eventually slip away from Apple as that size of a unit will appeal to mobile work force in the business world and the big players will push development.

I think the iPhone will continue to be a player as the main advantage of the iPhone is that they only offer one model at a time so they can stay on top of QC. The Motorola Razr is about the only phone that has had the type on longevity as the iPhone in regards to model.

HTC and many others have put out some stinker phones in the past and as they flood the market with new Droid offerings, I'm sure they will continue that tradition.

If iPhone does develop a phone for Verizon, which I think they will after the exclusivity contract runs out with AT&T, iPhone sales will spike again.

Should be fun to watch...

Not that hard..There will be tablets released that do the same stuff as well as other things like webcams, flash, and screens that can flip between lcd and e-ink type displays for reading books.

There is word out now that Apple is going to do something like put iOS on a MacMini.

I think that is the wrong thing to do. You want the power on the desktop. I don't think they should take the iPad to the desk unless they are just going to allow keyboards to connect to the iPad. (a guy at work just bought a mini apple keyboard, don't think it was for an ipad though)

If they are actually trying to phase out OSX and go to the super maximum control and pay for everything iOS model, I think that will be a fail. You can't cripple a desktop like that. I can't imagine they would do that anyhow. They would lose some of their biggest supporters. (Photoshop users)

Speaking of, talking about **** where you eat. It was Adobe Photoshop users that basically kept Apple alive all those years, then they poo poo them on Adobe Flash. :laugh2:

Jobs has nerve. Of course thats what usually causes him to fail in the long run.
