Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue I'm having with my iPhone. It's a battery issue. Every day for the last month or so my phone will say it has about 40 percent left and then it turns off. I almost always have my iPad with me and I usually use that, but when I don't it's a big issue. Today I was at the gym playing basketball and was trying to watch the Lakers game during the break and it just turned off when it got to around 40 percent.

I had that problem with my 3gs after I installed the new os. Not only did it wipe my phone completely but at any moment below 60% my phone might shut off. I would put it on the charger and it would sometimes come right back on or stay low on battery and need a full charge.

After a couple months of this, one day while using my phone for directions it shut off for good and I was put in a bad situation with no directions, phone or phone number to call the person I was meeting. Had no idea so few "pay phones" remain in the world.

I already had an upgrade available but was trying to hold out for the 5 but that didn't happen. I did a little research before it stopped working all together and it's apparently a wide spread problem that apple will not help you with. You can replace the battery and that seems to work for most but not all.

Goodluck.

Have not heard of or experienced that particular issue, though my iPhone 4 battery performance is far from optimal.

Here is a good guide for replacing your battery, which is what I would try. LINK

Is it the 4S? There was a known issue with battery life on that phone. If you're still under warranty and with this issue being known anyway, you might just get a fix for free. If it's an older phone the battery might just be failing with age.

I'd check Apples Support community and search the term: iPhone Battery Issue or take it to an Apple Store if convenient.
