My 1 year old nephews thing is to open up a bottled water(or have me do it for him) gulp some water, let it dribble down his chest, and close the bottle. Then repeat.

He was bringing me a water and spilled it all over me w/ the iPod in my pocket and I tried turning it on which apparently is a no-no. Think this rice thing will work?

It's recommended on some sites and I guess as long as it wasn't submerged in water it shouldn't be a big problem. Some guy sad he left it in rice for 2 days and it was fine. It certainly can't hurt anymore than spilling water on it already did.

True but I may have hurt myself by trying to turn it on for a day

If you aren't in "The Man" club.

You can't get one.

Gotta be a card carring member....sorry. :starspin

I don't know if this will help, but my son has washed (and dried) his Nano TWICE and it's still kicking after doing the rice thing. I don't know if, after being run through the dryer, that that step was necessary, but it definitely didn't hurt it more than it was already. They seem to be pretty resilient, but I'd guess that one of the hard drive iPods wouldn't have fared so well.

i ran my iphone thru the washer.
put it in rice, it works now.
give it a try, leave it alone for about a week.
i bet it works
